On arrival, we took a taxi from the airport to the hotel which took about 15 mins. ||||The hotel is situated just outside Porto but has a car park at the rear should you have a car or you could catch a no. 600 bus in to the main square where the bus route ends for €1.50 which only took 15 mins. The busses are regular and the bus stop is a minute or two walk to the right outside the pharmacy.||||I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is very clean. I had a double rooom for single occupancy which was on the small side but again very clean with a modern bathroom, fridge, air con and tv but no coffee making facilities or safe. I also found the room to be quiet.||||We opted for a self service breakfast at the hotel for €6 which consisted of coffee, juices, cereals, rolls with spreads, cheese and meats and bread for toasting. ||||On the whole, I found this to be a nice little hotel which is totally adequate for the amount of time I spent in the hotel and given the price. Read moreWe spent last weekend at Hotel Quasar, during the first night of our stay we noticed something wrong with the ensuite bathroom, the water kept running in the toilet. We went to check and there was no way to stop it. After having a horrible night sleep, we reported the issue to reception, they simply said that they were fully booked so basically there was nothing to do, we showed the issue and thought they would take action. Nothing was done and at check out the following day we expressed our discomfort and asked for a discount on the cost of the stay. We were offered €10 and to cover the cost of the 2 bottles of water we purchased the first day (€3). We said that was not even 10% of the cost of the stay! When we said we would write a negative review if they didn't take the issue seriously they said ok and refused to deduct the €13 initially offered. Although they seemed like good people, had a really bad customer service strategy. ||On another note, very noisy hotel, not central at all, I...
Read moreThis small hotel is about a 20 minute bus ride, almost due north, of the centre of Porto with a bus stop within 100m taking you directly to the city centre hence the modest cost of the rooms. The ensuite rooms are of adequate size, very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast has, in my opinion, sufficient variety to satisfy the tastes of most travellers. The staff have always been friendly and very helpful. There is a small bar which remains open for guests late into the evening. There are two good local restaurants within 100yds with, as stated, the centre of Porto being a short bus ride away on the 600 service which runs very frequently during the day and early evening. I have stayed here twice and it definitely my first choice as a great combination of location and value for money. I have given it a 5* location award as I wanted a hotel close to the squash facility at Pro-Racket, 600m away, and easy access to the centre of Porto and it fitted that...
