GuestHouse Pombinha — Hotel in Nazaré

The lively owners, Rui & Manuela made our stay so homely. A glass wine welcomed our arrival. From outside, the guesthouse looks like any row of houses. But upon entering, its interior is well-done and in vintage style. Large living room with tv, table to play like scrabble and a veranda. A family kitchen is available to all guests to cook. Fridge, oven, microwave is at one's use. Coffee and teas are available freely. And basic ingredients to cook. Utensils and pots are at disposal. Just like home. There are 2 double rooms with common bathroom. The other room has its bathroom by the hallway. We had a large bedroom with own bathroom and a veranda overlooking the Nazare sea horizon. One can ask Manuela to wash your dirty clothes. Very kind of her. I had ironing done. She speaks French but not English. Her husband can do the translation reasonably. Her son speaks English well. But this language barrier was not a problem to interact with her. There are 2 supermarkets nearby. Distance to Nazare proper is 10 minutes car drive. We stayed here for 4 nights. A Portuguese dinner was prepared by Manuela of which we partook. Such generosity. This is a home with 2 dogs. I recommend this accomodation because every guest is truly a guest in a family home...

This guesthouse is outstanding: spotless, roomy, warm and welcoming, with a large kitchen to cook in and laundry facilities, and it is run by the most wonderful folks one could meet. They provide suggested tours, they help you figure out your itinerary, there's even a bottle of port set out to help weary travellers who are stressed out upon arrival! They are exceptional folks! This guesthouse is a real treasure! The owners are managing the guesthouse themselves and really make sure guests have a good time during their stay. I made the booking for the wrong week and arrived in the middle of the night. They managed to accommodate both and even gave me a free upgrade! The rooms are very spacious and we'll equipped (one can argue about the purple curtains ;)), there is plenty of parking options in front of the guesthouse.
