The hotel stay was disappointing but as expected as I had already read quite a few negative reviews about it.
We booked 2 different rooms and the air conditioning in both rooms did not work at all. The fridge was also missing from my room and was told they do not have enough to put one in every room.
I was moved to a different room which did have a fridge but the air conditioning only partly worked. I could control the fan speed but not the temperature. Afer speaking to reception again I was told the air con system needed an update and the temperature could only be set centrally for the whole hotel until the system is updated.
The safe in my room did not work. I was told someone would have a look at this to put new batteries in but this did not happen.
The swimming pool you have to pay for which I had read beforehand but what I had not read is that you also have to wear a swim cap. The hotel should be upfront about any specific requirements to use the facilities.
There is lots of maintenance needed, there are sockets hanging off the wall, large cracks in walls, marked walls, wardrobe / cupboard doors do not fit properly. The socket for the bathroom fan pull cord was hanging off the wall from the wires which is actually (albeit high up) in the shower enclosure.
The walls between the rooms are very thin. I could quite easily hear the people talking in the room next to me. Fortunately I did not have any loud guests staying next to me so it wasn't a problem during my stay.
Few positives, the bathroom is very nice (fan socket aside), there is plenty of parking and the WiFi works well.
I would not stay at the hotel again and would not recommend it. The hotel could be very nice but they just need to put some time and money in to...
Read moreWe wanted to have our wedding there (which was last month). Went 6 months in advance and they seemed happy to host us... until, that is, they decided to not respond to emails whatsoever. If I hadn't experienced it, I wouldn't have believed a hotel, and a supposedly good one at that, could be so unprofessional. If I could, I would give it 0 stars. Almost ruined our day. Luckily, we were able to find another hotel that made our wedding day truly magical. P.S.: and because it was a tiny wedding, they wanted to charge us 30% extra which we agreed to without question, and they were still absolutely disgusting in the way they treated us. And the only requirement we had was for a gluten-free menu which we stated from day 1 and they said they could accommodate. Other than that, we were flexible with everything: meals, decorations, etc. abd still got the zero-star...
Read moreFantastic looking spacious hotel, ample private parking in palatial surroundings. ||Receptionist s were extremely helpful and pleasant.||Check in was quick and hassle free.||Breakfast was excellent consisting of English, continental and cereal.||||Plenty of choice and ample fresh fruit. On it criticism of the breakfast was the orange juice was not fresh orange but a cheap water type cordial type, horrible and totally unacceptable for a hotel of this calibre.||||A charge of euros 12.50 to use the swimming pool was also unnecessary and a poor addition to the overall experience. ||||My room number 231 was very quiet and spacious no tea and coffee making facilities.||||This hotel could and should have in my opinion been worthy of 5 stars, what a pity 3 little things spoiled my review.||||Having said all that, I would be happy...
