Hotel Hebe — Hotel in Peniche

We stumbled across this hotel while meandering around the Peniche area looking for a room. We were travelling by bicycle and were having trouble finding a place as it was a Portuguese national holiday. WHAT A GEM! The building looks brand new and is very tastefully decorated. Our room was large and well equipped with a huge patio outside the sliding glass doors. The breakfast was all fresh food and very good. The staff mostly speak Portuguese but the older son speaks perfect English. All the staff, likely all one family, are very friendly and helpful. And the internet was the best that we had used in over 5 weeks on the road. The free WiFi is available all throughout the hotel with a very strong signal. But best of all, there is no password required. At 40 Euros it is a bargain. And they have an INDOOR POOL too! It's a little off the beaten path but, unless you're on foot, it's no problem. ||||DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!||||ps. if you want to eat truly authentic Portuguese food check out the small restaurant nearby. I can't remember the name but just turn right out the front door. It's about a 10 minute walk, past the sports center. It has a red awning outside. Well...

Ambiente e decoração simples mas um excepcional cheiro a limpo. Simpatia do proprietário 5 estrelas. Quarto familiar para casal com duas camas extra para duas adolescentes. A piscina estava óptima e limpinha. No geral estávamos muito satisfeitos. O único reparo é o pequeno almoço "buffet". De buffet só tem o facto de sermos nós a irmos buscar o tabuleiro. Pouca variedade, pouca qualidade, pouca quantidade, a proprietária vai colocando as coisas conforme acha que devemos tirar. O que achei surreal foi a minha filha pedir se podia dar-lhe mais um croissant e a sra. respondeu que não podia pois já tínhamos comido muito e ainda faltava vir mais hospedes e depois não chegava para todos. Eramos 4, tínhamos tirado 3 pela lógica dela ainda teríamos direito a mais um. Disse isto em voz alta, os outros 2 hospedes que estavam na sala ouviram e a miúda ficou envergonhada. Não disse nada nem reclamei porque não queria começar o dia com chatices. Tenho pena de não ter tirado fotos do "buffet". Havia 1 fatia de presunto enrolado juntamente com 3 de fiambre. Queijo não havia mais de 5 fatias. O pão era fatiado na copa e levado à fatia, tal como os croissants, um de cada vez. O sumo de laranja diluído muitas vezes...muitos bolos. E a proprietária dentro da copa a controlar a quantidade que estamos a comer. Para não falar na resposta que deu, falta de profissionalismo ou não sei bem como dizer não é só o saber fazer é também o saber ser....se tivesse que avaliar pelo pequeno almoço...

This place was a gem. The rooms are big and bright (ours even had a large terrace) and comfortable, showers were hot with plenty of pressure, the owners were friendly and accomodating, and the breakfast was very good...the owner even made us omelets! The location is perfect with a car. Easy to get to Peniche for the ferry to Berlengas Island, less than 10 minutes away. I highly recommend...
