Close to everything. Pingo Doce, the best supermarket in Pombal (but there are 2 more which are good) in my opinion, is only 10 minutes walk away. Mr Pizza is close too. Restaurants bars and stores everywhere close by. And peaceful too, although right now they are doing work outside the train station so you can hear that. I love the fridge and the spaciousness of the rooms (you must book a twin room or a double room, because the single rooms are far too small). HOWEVER THERE IS ZERO SOUNDPROOFING, which they need to improve quickly, and there is the issue of the mold. I explain more in my other section. Yesterday the TV channels were awful (most did not work, especially those in the English language), but today by a miracle they were back to normal again. I have no idea what happened. So I am happy about that. They need to learn to clean the bathroom mold. The bathroom in general could be better cleaned but the black mold is a major problem in many of their rooms (I checked a few trying to find one which did not have one). In the end I bought a simple product from a local supermarket and removed the mold myself (it was very easy and very cheap). I spoke to the cleaner about it and she did not know about this product. I am amazed that a cleaner does not know how to clean black mold, but a hotel manager should check the rooms regularly and find solutions. A simple Internet search will give you cheap solutions for black mold. This hotel could be FANTASTIC if they resolve the mold issue in the bathroom (tub and floor) - which as I said it's really simple and cheap to resolve. They need to improve the soundproofing between rooms and the outside if possible. If you need silence you need to bring ear plugs. Also bring a multiplug because these hotel rooms have very very few sockets. My bedside table lamp is not even plugged in because there...

The fridge in the room. Although, because they did not have a functioning/open bar, they should provide a kettle so we can make our own coffee or tea. Or they should provide a machine which makes it 24/7. The rooms are not well cleaned. The bathroom are covered in BLACK MOLD (see photos). Black mold is bad for your health and any hotel should make sure to remove it. Instead, when I spoke to the cleaner, she clearly did not care about it. I checked several rooms hoping to find one without it and most had this horrible black mold (and mold musty smell of course throughout the room). I found body hair in the bathtub and in my opinion it is simply not cleaned. Black mold, if cleaned and dried every time, does not appear. It only appears when there is no cleaning taking place. DISGUSTING. Beyond first glance appearance, if you move furniture it's all dirty. The bathroom is the main problem with black mold everywhere. I asked to change rooms and all rooms I saw had the same problem. I spoke to the cleaner who clearly did not know about cleanliness and did not care.
