My husband, 20 year old daughter and I shared this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room and efficiency kitchen villa. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The place is very clean and well kept. It is a good central location not far from anything. We stayed in Villa 1 which is close to the front of the property. Unfortunately you hear the road noise and it is a busy street where the cars are going very fast. We have had 3 nights where a dog has been barking at all hours of the night and a couple nights where you can hear the cows mooing around 3am. There is air conditioning but it is only in the living room/kitchen area. You need to keep your bedroom doors open for the cool air to reach the bedrooms. There are no ceiling fans or portable fans in the villa, so moving the air into the bedroom was difficult. As a woman in her late 40s I get hot flashes at night and need cool air. When it is cool enough outside there is great air flow with the big Windows. The mattress is very firm, plenty of pillows. The bathroom does not have a vent fan so it gets very humid when you shower. The shower is a very modern open design. We had trouble with water going out of the shower area, flooding the bathroom and going into the hallway. We had to use many towels to mop it up. The kitchen has a small fridge, full size stove, toaster, microwave, tea kettle, Nespresso machine and mini clothes washer. . There is a large drying rack and outside line to dry your clothes so no need to overpack, just wash as you go. The kitchen is very well stocked, we cooked many meals here. Better stocked than many condos we have rented traveling around the USA. Sonia has been very kind and welcoming. She provided her contact card and gave us a welcome basket of goodies upon arrival. She has been on site in the office offering a hot coffee or cold beer and a smile. Thank you for...

Read moreWe had originally booked another resort… until their so‑called “room for 4 adults” turned out to be a squeeze even for parents with two kids. Then fate stepped in: a last‑minute cancellation opened up a unit at Parrot’s Village. Sonia met us within 15 minutes – and from that moment, we knew we’d lucked out.
This small compound of just five houses somehow keeps each unit feeling private. Ours – one of two with a hot tub – was spotless, well‑maintained, with two comfortably sized rooms, a well‑equipped kitchen, and a thoughtfully set‑up BBQ area.
Sonia’s attention to detail and responsiveness made everything easy. While we’d planned to stay in the south, we were thrilled to end up here instead. The location is perfect: in the heart of the island’s north, less than 10 minutes from Ribeira Grande and its gorgeous beaches (we loved Santa Bárbara), and only about 10 minutes to the south coast – Ponta Delgada, Lagoa, and beyond. There’s even a huge supermarket just two minutes away.
Clean, comfortable, perfectly located, and run with genuine care – Parrot’s Village turned our change of plans into the best decision...
