Pensão Agrícola — Hotel in Tavira

Do not make direct bookings with Rui Pedro, hktel manager, unless you want to be hugely disappointed!

On 19 July my boyfriend emailed Pensao Agricola to make a booking enquiry. The booking manager, Rui, emailed instantly confirming availability for 9-12 August. I phoned Rui on 21st Aug to secure the booking and he confirmed availability but that we only needed to pay on arrival due to a recent change in the booking policy - HIS WORDS. I emailed Rui instantly and asked him to confirm what we had promised in writing. I sent follow up emails on 23 and 28 July, called and spoke to Rui on 27th for 56sec and he confirmed he'd write an email that same day. I whatsapped Rui on 29th July and no response. My boyfriend then contacted one of the owners who mentioned that actually the booking wasn't confirmed and they'd get back to us by Sunday 1st August. We got a response at midnight today 30 July saying the booking wasnt actually done, apologizing for the inconvenience and suggesting alternative dates which dont work for us as we made plans for the other nights based on the booking we were assured we had with pensao agricola during our first call.

Essentially it looks like Rui confirmed the room was available over the phone, and then refused to answer emails to keep us hanging as a Plan B in case one of the other bookings fell through?

This has meant that we lost 10 days thinking we had a booking but actually Rui's word means nothing. I would be wary of making bookings directly with Rui. On normal occasions i dont think id just accept someones word for a booking, but you can only hope...imagine i had just showed up based on his word and hadn't actually insisted on a written...

As a mature couple, we try to see the most of this world while we are still fit and able. It's rare that we return to the same place, but we are glad we did to Pensao Agricola. We stayed in a different suite this time (suites are still better in our opinion, as you have more space and privacy), and it was once again splendid. The Wifi has definitely improved, and one of us was able to get a massage in our room, done under the skillful hands of Manu (which you should not miss if you need one). Water temperature still took a long time to warm up (probably much quicker during the hotter months), and we hope Pensao is recycling as grey water so that much is not wasted down the drain.||||It was much cooler this time as we visited in early April, but the ambience was still warm while we had dinners and breakfasts indoors (couple times in front of the welcoming fire-place). Special thanks to Maria (Chef in the kitchen), Anna, Barbara, Eliza and Sergio, who were like family and took good care of us. We were also happy to reunite with Ernesto and Julia, they were so adorable and we heard that Julia is pregnant again! ||||Pensao Agricola has proven to us in every aspects, and will be a place for returning. If you wish to lay back relax in luxury, not be bothered by the emotions of the cities, and be treated genuinely by a team of good people, you should consider having a stay here. There is a piece of soul and lots of thoughts in every item displayed at this place, no wonder it is...

Me voy enamorada de Pensión Agricola. Este hotel ha cumplido todas las expectativas que tenía y las ha superado. Buscaba un hotel rural tranquilo con encanto para estar tres dias con mi pareja y claramente hemos acertado. |Nuno y Rui, sus dueños, son encantadores y te ayudan con sus recomendaciones a que conozcas la zona como un local. Gracias a sus tips hemos conocido playas maravillosas y hemos|comido en restaurantes estupendos. |Como venimos a celebrar una ocasión especial cogimos la suite patio. Cuenta con un patio con palmeras, dos sillas y una mesita donde sentarte y relajarte con el sonido del agua de la fuentecita que hay. A un lado hay un salon con tv y al|otro la habitación. La habitación no es muy grande, es la única pega que pongo, algo estrecha, sencilla pero muy acogedora. El baño esta bien y tiene ducha con una ventana electrica que se abre para ducharte mientras ves las estrellas. Los amenities son de una marca portuguesa trasicional y huelen de maravilla. Ofrecen detalles como un altavoz pequeñito blue tooth, una bolsa ideal con dos toallas de playa, una sombrilla para la playa, mapa y guia de la zona hecha in house. |Las zonas comunes son super agradables. Dentro de la|casa principal hay un saloncito con chimenea decorado con muebles vintage mezcla franceses, portugueses y españoles. También hay un pequeño comedor, otro saloncito, la recepción y la cocina. En el exterior se encuentra la terraza donde se desayuna y se cena de maravilla. Hay varias mesitas debajo de una pergola hecha con cañas y cortinas de esparto. Hay un barecito donde ponerte gin tonics y refrescos con limones de sus frutales. La música es super agradable y siempre suena. La piscina se encuentra detrás de una tapia que la protege del viento y cuenta con unas 8 hamacas. |Al abrir la puerta del jardín sales a pasear a una huerta llena de aromáticas y frutales. Esparcidas por esta zona demla finca hay sillas para sentarte a la sombra de un algarrobo, camas antiguas de hierro con almohada y manta para tumbarte a leer, mesas donde tomarte un cafe y una super mes que abraza un olivo del que cuelgan lamparas de esparto y sobre la que hay fruteros con fruta del jardin y miles de revistas de viaje, arquitectura y deco. Al final del jardin hay unas cuadras donde duermen los dos burritos de la casa. Hay una actividad que consiste en cepillarlos. |Para bajar a la playa podemos alquilar los vehiculos de la casa: una especie de tuc tuc, una vespa o un alfa romeo. Nosotros teniamos coche asi que nos movimos en el|nuestro. |La zona de Tavira nos ha gustado mucho. Playas estupendas, buena comidaa buen precio y no hay mucha gente. Al menos en esta epoca. |Pension Agricola ha sido un descubrimiento ! volveremos...
