Monte Bagão — Hotel in Vila do Bispo

This place was a huge disappointment. The photos and description are misleading: the so-called “Turismo Rural” has nothing in common with the charming agriturismi we expected.

The rooms are extremely bare, more like cells than guest rooms. No TV, no amenities, nothing to make your stay pleasant. Check-in was careless and rushed – basically just a door opened and left at that.

The shared kitchen was constantly occupied by a large group of families and left dirty, making it unusable.

Reaching the property is another problem: you need to drive 2 km on a rough dirt road that puts your car tires at serious risk. We later discovered in reviews that some travelers actually had punctures because of it.

As for the “view,” it is not scenic hills but rather an antenna and a water tank. At night, barking dogs disturb your sleep. There wasn’t even a clothes rack to dry wet beach towels, which is the bare minimum in a seaside location.
