My husband and I travelled to the area because I have family in a small village nearby. I'm pregnant and don't sleep very comfortable so we decided to stay in a hotel instead of with family on an air mattress. We have travelled all over Europe and noticed that even a 4 star hotel looks and feels more like a 2 star hotel with the cramped rooms and smaller than usual "double" beds. This was the best rated hotel in town so we went this route and we were so pleasantly surprised. Our room was 2 twins, actual twin sized not slivers or cot sized beds like I've experienced before but they were put together and felt like a king sized bed which is what we're used to. We joked that someone must paint after each guest. Even throughout our stay instead of just the usual made bed I feel like housekeeping cleaned the entire room and bathroom every day for us. I was wowed. It was a great stay and would recommend for sure! We also ate at the restaurant attached and that was also very...

And when I did arrive, I was stupidly early, but they gave me an early check-in – of course they did! ||The room was spotlessly clean with a balcony with wonderful views over this special little town. Sitting there at night looking at the lights from far and wide was such a pleasure.||The pool was delightful and a suntrap, with ample sunbeds when I was there. ||Vila Pouca de Aguiar was bustling and fun during the day, but very quiet at night in early September. I loved it, though.||I had a mid-afternoon bus and requested a late check-out which – of course – was readily granted. I was allowed to stay until 3pm, which was incredibly generous. ||Surely the best place to...
