We stayed here for 2 nights in August while travelling along the Transfagarasan.||We stayed in a bungalow across from the actual hotel. Our bungalow had its own private deck along the river with a table and 2 benches. ||Inside there was a small table with 2 chairs, a bar fridge, a kitchen sink. On the same floor is the bathroom which is extremely small compared to the emptiness of the bungalow. You cannot be large or wide hipped because the sink imposes on the actual toilet area which is basically glued to the shower.||Upstairs there is a double bed which was 2 single mattresses beside one another with the same wood of the bungalow as its frame. The right side of the bed basically touches the slanted ceiling so you must watch your head. On this level is also where the tv is mounted to the roof. Not all channels work and sometimes it cuts out. The water heater is right beside the bed so if you turn on the electric heater which is located by the front door it equally heats up the bed area as it or just beside it.||Parking is free and there are lots of places.||I was VERY disappointed because our room specified it had free wifi, which I thought was great for a bungalow but it was too good to be true. It is completely false and even the statement that all areas have wifi is false because inside the reception/restaurant it is hard to have a steady connection. ||Also I'm not sure if there was a problem or if it always is like this but as soon as you step in the bungalow there is a strong odour of washroom. It goes away with the windows open but when we first arrived we didn't know if it was our bathroom or if it came from underneath the bubgalow, maybe a septic system?||The male receptionist didn't seem to care at all about his guests and was very uninterested. He just handed me the keys and said "2nd bungalow". Nothing more. ||We ate at the restaurant the first night (unless you bring food to bbq there isn't a lot of options). The meal was pretty and cheap minus the...
Read morePros: The bungalows - spacious and comfortable, plenty of space for luggage, bed extra comfy, room warm and extra clean.||Did not have any problems with the stairs (bungalow is on 2 levels), nor did we have with the bathroom, which is small but manageable. All the heat goes up, where the bed is, and it's very comfortable to sleep, even in bad rainy whether.||Electric heating available to your discretion.||Hot water always.||The bungalow is right on the river whit a small private terrace (unfortunately there's a big black pipe on the river that spoils a bit the view and quite some garbage). The sound of the river is just perfect for relaxing and insulates you from the rest of the campus (literally did not here anything else besides the river while in the bungalow, and there were enough noisy tourists).||Perfect location for visiting Balea Lake, Vidraru Dam, transfagarasan road. ||||Cons: no hair dryer in the room. ||The thing I liked the least was the bad food and limited food options at the restaurant. And there aren't any other food options in the area (maybe just at Balea Lake 25 min away). At least the food was cheep enough.||Also no wifi in bungalows and no phone...
Read moreWe have stayed at this hotel for just one night in August 2016, while driving from Constanța to Arad (East to West of Romania). ||||It was extremely easy to find Hotel Siesta, being some tens of meters away from Transfagarasan road. The hotel was an extremely pleasant surprise for us, extremely clean and quiet, with a large room, soft beds and sheets, long balcony with a nice view of the mountains and and enormous bathroom. ||||Another pleasant surprise was that, in the night, although it was summer, they turned on the central heating, as the nights are cold enough at 1200 meters altitude.||||The restaurant is not too fancy, but the food is tasty, consistent and not very expensive.||||The parking is free and generous. They state that wireless is free, we could not connect, but we did not bother to find out why as we had our own 3g/4g connections.||||We wished we could spend more time at this hotel that made us feel excellent, but our holiday was over and we had to drive home the next day.||||We warmly recommend this hotel to anyone driving through...
