We recently visited this hotel with high hopes, given its spectacular appearance. We were hoping to relax but ended up quite the opposite. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing, and it certainly did not live up to the expectations of a 4-star establishment. Here are the key issues we encountered:
-Overcrowded Facilities: The reception area was almost always full, with only two receptionists struggling to manage dozens of guests. This inefficiency extended to the tiny outdoor pool, SPA and breakfast buffet, which was constantly overcrowded, and the food selection was limited and lacked variety. -Swimming Pool Issues: The swimming pool was incredibly small and often filled with children jumping in, with no apparent policy to control this behavior. Also many stray dogs everywhere. This made it difficult to enjoy the pool as an adult looking for a relaxing experience. -Overwhelmed Staff: Although the staff were incredibly polite, it was clear they were overwhelmed and unable to provide the level of service expected at a 4-star hotel. -Noise and Disturbances: Our stay coincided with an event at the hotel, resulting in loud music from the afternoon until midnight. This was disruptive during dinner and was followed by drunk guests shouting, which severely impacted our ability to relax. -Indoor Swimming Pool: The indoor pool was also filled with children running, shouting, and jumping. While they were enjoying themselves, the environment felt more like a water park than a spa, which was not conducive to relaxation. -Additionally, the air quality was poor, with a strong smell of chlorine.
Overall, the hotel spa did not meet our expectations, and we do not believe it is worth the money. The facilities are inadequate for the number of guests, leading to a less-than-relaxing experience. We hope this review will create some awareness and will lead to better planning, policy implementation and use of facilities as the place has...
Read moreThis is definitely a 4 star hotel: -Bathtub dirty ( I understand is not the fault of the cleaning lady is the fault of the DIRECTOR OF THE HOTEL FOR HAVING ONLY 5 MAIDS FOR THE WHOLE HOTEL!!! this is modern day slavery!
the window covers were of low quality and you will have light in your room from the moment the sun rises. ( I attached pictures)
TV is very VERY SMALL and if you wear glasses you won't read the subtitles or even myself with good eye sight couldn't read anything. I add pictures to see how small is the TV is basically small as a laptop.
breakfast is poor and definitely the cucumbers were leftover from previous day. ( I attached pictures)
towels and bathroobs are old and used and need to be replaced since they have holes in them (I attached pictures)
-Room didn't had extra blanket or pillow as a 4 star hotel needs to have in the closets
cheap low quality bed sheets and pillows
to find a good working plug to keep your charger in is something you will struggle.
the treatment rooms have broken walls ,the paint falls down from the walls! ( I attached pictures)
This hotel was 4 stars 30 years ago ,now I would give it maximum 4 stars
810 lei for 2 nights this is almost 200€ that I would prefer spending them on a good hotel.
Don't recommend it at all! The staff are great and polite but they need more staff especially when they charge so much money per room.
If I was the INVESTOR I would HIRE A COMPETENT AND REASONABLE DIRECTOR TO MANAGE THE PLACE IN...
Read moreThe hotel is recently refurbished and looks very good for a 105 years old building. It is elegant and located on a hill on top of the resort, near a beautiful park. Rooms are very spacious and clean and we found toiletries in the bathroom. Warm and nice atmosphere inside. Reception staff is efficient, but not too friendly. The water temperature in the pools is very good and there is a wide range of facilities to enjoy, with bathrobes and towels provided. Tasty dishes at the restaurant. Very good and diversified breakfast.
The spa: The ventilation system in the pools area is very weird, bringing in very cold air. No instructions and people entering dry sauna without a towel, and wet sauna without taking a shower. Too much water on the floor. No access to natural light and no possibility to take fresh air after sauna. The restaurant: They don’t serve soups at supper. Portions are medium to small. Wine is served at room temperature. Slow service and insufficient staff. We took wine by glass and the red wine was served at 25 degrees, room temperature. Room and reception: We booked a matrimonial room and announced we will be sleeping with our kid in the same bed, but received a twin room, with very heavy beds that we had to put together. We waited 15 minutes to check out. Overall, it seemed overpriced unless you overuse the spa services which are included...
