Hotel Silva — Hotel in Bușteni

This hotel is not what it seems! Although the pictures look very pretty, the hotel management is very greedy and will do everything to save money on its customers. Some examples:

We booked a room online for 3 people, and were given a room with only 2 (single person) beds. When we asked the reception if they could give us a room with 3 beds please, they told us we had to make a new booking because apparently "a lot of people don't need a bed per person and ask for a smaller room" which was clearly a lie to make us pay extra upon arrival.

the pictures show a bathtub in the room, which we indeed got, but... The bathtub didn't have a stopper. When we went to the reception again to ask for one, they said they'll go look for one and bring it to us. They never followed up on this so we went to ask again the next day and they rolled their eyes at us and said they don't provide bath stoppers because people apparently "steal them". Another complete lie because who on earth would steal a bath stopper..? We checked out other rooms on our way out and none of the rooms had a bath stopper, proving our suspicion that the hotel just doesn't want people taking a bath to save water.

The included breakfast does not get refilled and is lukewarm from the moment the doors open. Coffee for 200+ rooms is limited to 2 small coffee machines and out of all 8 available coffee types they only activate 2.

Some more reasons not to come here:

the power goes out the moment you leave the room, and this includes the fridge. This means you can't store any food while you're away and if you try to use the fridge you'll have a puddle of water at the bottom every time you go out.

there is barely any water pressure in the shower and the temperature is not regulated. More than half the time you're stuck with cold water slowly pouring out of the showerhead, so showering was very annoying. The showerhead also didn't attach to the socket on the wall for some reason, it kept falling off because the screw was too loose and the size of the holder was too big for the handle.

Don't trust the fancy pictures, this hotel is...

I was at this hotel 20 years ago. And for old times sake, i said we should go again, considering the location. I had a blast from the past, but not in a good way. The hotel has been forgotten in the 80s, the "renovation" is non existent. They trick you into paying up front for the room, and after we asked for a refund, they said it's not possible. The room is dirty, the sheets are stained, the furniture is old with some adhesive mask on top of it, the lighting is poor. The asking price for the room is rated as 3 stars, but you're getting a 1 star room. And there are a lot of things that makes the whole experience bad. I will sum up a few here. Room is dirty, bathroom included. The coat hangers in the closet are repaired with insulation tape. Only one pillow per bed. Bed quality is below average, meaning you can feel the springs inside the matress. You have a refrigerator in the room, but it's empty. The WiFi signal is poor, and the phone doesn't even connect to it. The carpet on the floor is worn out, stained, and dirty. There is not power outlet near the bed to charge the phone. There is no Do Not Disturb sign in the room to attach it to the front door. Sound insulation is terrible, you can hear everything...

Best thing about the hotel, disregarding the tablecloths which are stained and not changed on a regilar basis. Decent breakfast and quick service. Shout out to Florin the head waiter. The only thing that brought us back since last year was the restaurant.

The BAD:

Uninhabitable for families with children.

Awful sewer smell, very dirty carpet that looks like you will get fungus, dust on and in the furniture, huge awful hole in the bathroom under the bath tub, light turns off after 2minutes leaving you waving your arms like an idiot for the motion sensor to turn the light on again, toilet tank set to minimum requiring multiple flushes, window won’t open, balcony door can only be opened horizontally not verically, child can fall from balcony, furnitire doors hit your feet as there is no space to back up when opening.

Bed is the worst you can imagine squeaks and bends like it will break.

Heating turns on at 9:30pm only so it is COLD.

20+ more bad things to say but this one tops them all: yellow (pee?!) stain on shower curtain.
