Everyone is reviewing this for lodging so I thought I'd review for food :) . Lodging is pretty great here too: clean rooms, ice views, good parking spots, good WiFi. But food here is ... a very pleasant and unexpected surprise! Firstly, you'll notice everything locally sourced: great job! Even things like ketchup are from around there. Secondly, they had the courage to even make international cuisine localized! There's a trout farm nearby so they have fresh trout and they made "trout and chips" ! With locally crunched corn flakes :) . Great deserts too, check out the papanasi desert. And great pizza with local sausages. I'm glad we have a longer stay so we got to try more of their menu. Oh and, great hearts too! Very good service: kind to children, attentive to your needs.

The location is great, very easy to find and very close to the atractions in the area. The rooms are well prepared and clean. For a 3 star hotel, it s not ok that they don t have a hair dryer in the bath room and neither a mini fridge. Also the waiters where very pacient and nice. The view is great, you can see the mountains from far away. The bad thing is that there are no shops nearby so if you get hungry, you have to buy from their restaurant. Also, the restaurant is opened for everyone not just the hotel customers so this makes it very crowded. Furthermore, if you want to have the dinner at the restaurant, get prepared because we waited 40 minutes for someone to bring us a menu. The service is very slow. Maybe they should get more cookers, chefs or something

Quiet place. Good food, well trained personel, fair prices. You can use here romanian holiday vouchers. It is clean and well positioned. You can bring your friends or family here and from here you can get very fast to the beautiful Transfagarasean, Bilea Cascada, Bilea Lac or to Avrig at Brukenthal Palace. From Bilea cascada you can get to Bilea Lac by cable car for 40 RON per person and see all Transfagarasean from above. Spectacular landscape, alway worth the trip. Be aware to wild bears on Transfagarasean! Don't feed them.

Based on visitor’s reviews, we made a 4 night reservation, breakfast included.||Additionally, the main booking criteria: restaurant availble, tv and free wifi - you can find as confirmed services in this location.||Unfortunately, beside the beautiful landscape, there is no reason to go there.||It is true that the room was clean and with new furniture. The mattress and pillows are comfortable and the location is almost quiet (some construction is in progress next to the parking). Luckily, room no 8 was on the other side of the building.||I had to go to the reception twice, as we did not have glasses and toilet paper in the room. ||We had dinner one time. Do not expect too much, certain dishes are easy to made by anyone.||Reviewers were talking about “fabulous” breakfast. Well, this depends on the personal standard: two slices of salami, some cheese with flies all around the food (the plates were uncovered). The coffee was horrible. ||If you wold like to take a shower, you will have to keep the towels in the room, as there are no hangers in the bathroom. So getting out naked from the bathroom, to use the towels, might be some “experience”.||The tv cable was not working since we arrived and soon after the famous “free wifi”was down, too.||The owners look like they do not care, putting the young and unexperienced daughter in front of the customers, at the reception area.||The location has three daisies ranking. Honestly, not sure how they got this level…||Everything was sooo dissapointing, that we left two days earlier. We did not care about any refund, probably would not be any...

Some rooms have air conditioning, others do not. Those that do have it smell very bad because the air conditioners are dirty (mobile) and not cleaned. To enter the toilet, the door has to be slammed and gets stuck on the cabinet. The rooms are not cleaned for more than 3 days, there is nowhere to put the trash, there are no trash cans, and there is nowhere outside to throw it away. There are no hooks for towels; the balcony is very dirty, with bird droppings, etc., the carpet cannot be washed at all, and after a few minutes with white socks, they are all dark. There is no refrigerator. The shower gels and shampoo samples are expired. In reality, the room was cleaned only once in 5 days. Breakfast is very poor, the only hot option is omelette, there are no additional foods, there is no coffee, no drinks, no fruit. If you come an hour later, there is practically no food left. The pool was great, but there were so many chemicals that it stung your face and body. There are no basic things, such as when the receptionist locks up and you can't get in, because we came back at around midnight and the whole hotel was locked, and there is a lack of information. The location we stayed in was very beautiful, surrounded by mountains; the pool was the only thing that made our stay more...

Very nice place. I was there with my bf over the weekend ( Sat - Monday ). Even though at Balea Lake was crazy busy, overcrowded and traffic, here at Hanul Patrisiei was quite and chill. First thing first, great great traditional food at reasonable prices. I forgot the last time I ate a soup just like my grandma’s. Second thing I liked is location. Besides your neighbors in the villa there is no one around and you can sleep almost anytime day/night. The bed is super comfy. The bathrooms are equipped with everything you need in the mountains. Hot water, shampoo, towels. If you need a hairdryer just bring one with you is not a big deal. Third thing people are nice. The owner wakes up every morning to water the grass. Takes care of everything. Girls that are at the reception are cool and helpful. I had an horrible headache in the morning and she helped me with a pill. Overall I totally recommend if you are looking for relaxation...
