It was, overall a good experience. The hotel is not the most modern one but is perfect if you are traveling on a budget. The hotel is not the most modern one but it offers a good location, is not too far from the center of the city. Is located in a safe neighborhood, the staff is very friendly, the room were clean and the restaurant, despite being small, offers great food. The reservation came with breakfast included and it was worth it, the food was delicious. The bed was not the greatest but it was not the worse either. You get what you paid for. The only major complain I have about this place is that the hotel doesn’t offer air-conditioning. In their hotel description says it does but is not true. The first night we were in Cluj it was extremely hot and it was a nightmare to get some sleep. The rooms have a thermostat that you can’t change; it’s already set up with the temperature the hotel “fixed” for you. Thanked God that for the rest of our stay the temperatures raised to the 50’s at night and we were able to open the balcony door for some air. If the temperatures were like the first night, I don’t think I was going to be able to stay at that hotel. Overall, the hotel was ok. About the smocking situation, unfortunately, there is not a lot of options for people who doesn’t smoke, is everywhere in Cluj, I have to admit, I had a very hard time everywhere I went. Almost everyone smokes and there are no laws in that country that protect none-smoker, you are allowed to smoke inside if you like and there is no respect for none smoker and there is nothing you can do...
Read moreI stayed with 4 friends in 305 for 2 nights. It is an apartment with 2 rooms, one double with a dounle bed and one triple with 3 single beds; one small bathroom, and a decent hall area with a big mirror, a hanger and a closet. The triple room doesn't have a door. It wasn't our first choice but all the other decent priced places were booked because of Dreamhack Cluj 2015, which we went to. ||Pros: affordable, clean, close to the railway station, adjustable temperature in rooms, wall heating, no problem with the water, no funky or artificial smell, it just smelled clean and fresh. ||Cons: we stayed for 2 nights and no one came to tidy up the room on the second day, everything was left the way we left it, they didn't even bring more toilet paper. Also, the restaurant closes at 10. One of the shower cabin's doors was broken and barely hanging on. There were no shower caps or q tips in the bathroom, just soap, shampoo and plastic glasses. There was no window in the bathroom which was a bit inconvenient. Also, no slippers, mini fridge or hairdryer. Not enough power outlets jn the triple room.||All in all it was ok. There are a few small details that would made the stay more pleasant but for 2 stars and the price it was good. The restaurant is a bit overpriced. We had breakfast there, don't order the cafe latte if you don't like lukewarm coffee :)) The omlette was good but small. The gulaş is very spicy. The taxi was around 1014 ron to the Polivalent Hall and the hotel is around 1520 minutes walking distance from the...
Read moreThe hotel was in close proximity of the bus station, took me less than 5 minutes walk, so it's very convenient when you have to travel further. I arrived late at night, and the lady on reception was great, very welcoming, even at nearly 3am! Overall the staff I came in contact with were very friendly! I can't fault housekeeping at all, the room was spotless, moreso than some 4* hotels I've experienced. The bed was comfortable, I slept like a log, and I really appreciated the hotel name embroyded on the bedding, a very nice touch! The bedding itself was spotless, but also felt like very good quality, soft, not like the typical 'crispy' sheets you get in some hotels. My one and only niggle is that the hotel book doesn't have an updated Wi-Fi password. I found said password stuck at the bottom edge of the mirror in the hallway, just as I was getting ready to leave. Coming from a hospitality background myself, I was very very happy with my stay here and will definitely stay here again. The value for money is...
