We stayed for a week at this hotel while on a business trip. While it lacks finesse, it has all the basics one needs: large rooms, bathrooms and appliances in working order, daily cleaning of the rooms, good breakfast. The staff is kind and prompt. If parking is needed, there is a locked 2-car garage space that can be reserved at no extra cost. The taxi station is right outside and the location is in walking distance of central areas (20-25 min). The price is more than acceptable for what is offered. It is a true 3-star hotel. While in Cluj, we puzzled a lot about the frequency of businesses featuring number seven in their names: clubs, game rooms, guest houses, stores. We had to unexpectedly spend a day in Cluj, and the hotel we usually stay at was booked full. We were happy to find a room available at the Seven Hotel (music festival in town). The rooms are somewhat dated and furnishing worn, but clean. Breakfast (very good), and Wifi included (good), and also included air conditioning (good- most hotels charge extra for air conditioning) . Near the train station (1 km), and city center (2 km). This hotel is an excellent value for the money, if you are a thrifty traveller. I went on a business trip with a small budget. The front office staff was friendly. The rooms were exactly what you can expect for the price. I was actually surprised with the bathroom, compared to the bedroom it was a step above, perhaps renovated. The location was fine. If you dont mind walking it is about 10-15 minutes away from the city center.
If I need to come to Cluj next time I will try a different hotel just to gain a better perspective, however I still might consider...
