I recently had the misfortune of staying at Sarmis hotel, and I must say it was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I've ever had. From the moment I walked into the room, it was clear that cleanliness and basic maintenance were not a priority for this establishment.
The room was shockingly dirty, with feathers strewn around as if they were confetti, old bed sheets and pigeon droppings on the windowsill. The carpet appeared to have not been vacuumed in ages, and I could see stains and dirt particles everywhere. It was an immediate turn-off and made me question the hygiene standards of the entire place.
What was even worse than the deplorable state of the room was the attitude of the staff. Their lack of courtesy and basic training was evident from the get-go. It felt like they couldn't care less about providing a pleasant experience for their guests. Their rudeness was beyond anything I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. It was disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism.
It's truly disappointing when a hotel falls so short of even the most basic expectations. I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to reconsider their decision. This establishment is a prime example of how poor management and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction can lead to an utterly unsatisfactory experience.
I will certainly not be returning to Sarmis in the future, and I strongly advise others to steer clear as well. There are countless better options available that value their guests and maintain basic cleanliness standards.

Read moreIn short, communism nostalgia. This hotel is complicated to review. Polite and helpful staff, 24h reception, moderate cleanliness. The hotel is relic of the communism era, it has a fair amount of communist feeling combined with modern approaches. The rooms at a glance seem clean, however, if you look close enough, you can find the cleanliness lacks in certain areas. They have strange management decisions, like no minibar at the 4th floor although the fridge is there (but empty). The breakfast, unlike Booking suggests, is not that great. If you get lucky enough to get a room when the occupation grade is high, you will get a buffet style breakfast. If not, you have to order. The quality of the food is also a bag of mixed feelings. The bread is horrible, they mistaken a soft drink for real orange juice (only orange where available during my stay there, about 4-5 nights over a period of 4 months, so the practice is constant), coffee is strange. The cooked food is ok. Jam, butter and meat products such as sausages and ham are ok. Occasionally you can hear arguments from the kitchen or down the hallway, I understood that a manager has some anger management issues and seems not to give a damn about the comfort of the guests. Overall, it`s neither a bad hotel, neither a good one but it is an...
