This hotel was a bit of a joke ! The prices were REALLY high compared to the quality of the rooms ! We wanted to stop there for a break before the next day of driving. Not a lot of options : this hotel or another one in town. We chose this one because it looked better and it was easier to park just in front of the hotel. Maybe the only good thing in that hotel! The convenience of the parking. 1/ The food of the restaurant took ages to arrive, it wasn't quality food at all. We ordered pizzas and the crust wasn't pizza crust at all. 2/ The rooms were cheap, the AC was not working and the bathrooms were small with some kind of plastic made shower. 3/ To end this unpleasant stop, the receptionnist in the morning wouldn't let us pay with a credit card and wanted us to PAY another time for the meal we had the night before ! I guess they tried...We could only pay CASH! Because that what was written on the bill... Never seen an hotel that chooses for your how you have to pay and refuse a credit card ! The receptionist was really unpleasant and was blowing of annoyment. Don't...
Read moreWe found check-in fine, took about 5 minutes and the young lady on reception was helpful and could speak good English, our room was on the 3rd floor, had a fridge, air con, central heating and a clean shower room, the room itself was clean and had comfortable twin beds, a tv and telephone and a good wi fi signal and or free Ethernet connection, (please note no tea / coffee making facility's in the room), Room was warm at all times (November ) and the shower was hot .. TV had some English speaking channels and BBC news. The breakfast was a buffet most days but if the hotel had insufficient guests then it was ordered from a menu, but tea and coffee was strangely limited to one cup, a second cup would have to be paid for ? We had dinner at the hotel every evening, and the food was fresh, plentiful and cheap for a hotel. We were there for 6 nights in total, attending a friends wedding, overall a OK hotel, but I felt the room rate expensive for what it was, (around 60 Euro BB for a...
Read moreThe hotel is set in a typical, 4 floor apartment building the structure of which was restored and slightly adjusted to accommodate the required spaces. There is a supermarket on one side and a quiet bad looking apartment building on the other side of the hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are fair, if small, the restaurant serves a good selection of decent fish and local dishes. Other than that, however, the decoration is rather kitschy and some of the rooms have no view at all, with windows opening towards technical spaces, eaves or blind walls. While this is fine if there is nothing else available (and there isn't that much to choose from in Giurgiu), it could do better with a bit of care. The city centre is not that far, but keep in mind the hotel is set in a quite poor residential area. Accommodation prices are rather high for what you get, but I guess it is a matter of (next to no)...
