We booked a family room for 2 nights, for about 115 EUR, wich is a price above average in Hunedoara. The whole place is designed with great taste, the stuff is super friendly. The surroundings, well: you see houses in ruins... We got a parking spot in the courtyard. The food at the restaurant is delicious, the prices are reasonable. The waiting time on the first night was about 35-40 minutes. We paid 40 EUR: four dishes and drinks. And now the downside: The room we got was big, with a balcony, but you can't find a chair or a table in the room. Uncomfortable if you have to do some work. The drain in the bathroom had some problems, there was water even in the room after you took a shower. On the second night, there was a large party at the restaurant. The stuff managed to get us a table for dinner, but the loud music, the screaming and shouting forced us to leave and find another restaurant. It would have been nice if we were anounced in advance about this happening, maybe we wouldn't make the reservation for the room...

The staff is friendly but not that attentive at times. We got served the starters and had our plates taken away together with the cutlery after we finished.. but they didn't bring us a second set of silverware.
Many of the food items lacked taste, they weren't seasoned well enough. We didn't get asked about the preferred doneness for the steak and it ended up being well-done. Only the celery gorgonzola soup was very flavorful and creamy. The rest was average - for that price totally not worth it imo. Even the Mojito cocktail, (which is a very standard drink) was too bitter and not the way a good Mojito "should taste".
Maybe they should revise their menu and perfect their dishes. There isn't that much variety on the menu, so it would be best to focus on the items they have and elevate them.
The location is well maintained, very pretty and...
Read moreThe location is nice, the rooms are ok, however, the service left the building. First of all I didn’t resonate with the ‘jokes’ and language used by the reception staff like I was their little brother. I guess the concept of boundaries is stranger to them. Second of all, their wait staff in the breakfast room was non existent. I went and sat down for about ten minutes waiting for someone to come and assist me or take my order but nothing. I could hear them somewhere behind the doors just chitchatting complaining about the shifts and the salaries and bonuses but they would not come out to do their job. Maybe that’s the reason for the lack of bonuses. I had to leave because I had to get to a meeting and then decided to check out a day earlier and go to another hotel for the remainder of the trip. Conclusion: looks nice but...
