Valea Mariei — Hotel in Novaci

This is a less than objective review. We passed on booking this property because of its unimpressive outer aspect from up the street. We finally decided on it because it looked the only one affordable with rooms overlooking the valey below.

And boy, were ve surprised. The staff is amazingly friendly but professional, the rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and crisp, with high end amenities (smart TV) complimentary items ( from combs, toothbrush and paste, etc. to slippers) better than a lot of 5* hotels we've slept at. It also serves a large breakfast for about 5 eur per person.

GREATEST FEATURE : TERASE WITH SWINGING SLING AND CHAIRS WHICH INVITE YOU TO JUST ADMIRE THE VIEWS FOR HOURS IN A ROW.

As a tiny negative : It's a wannabe hotel not a mountain lodge, just a bit kitschy - paintings which don't belong, some shiny decorations, lamps and light sets. But they are very easy...

We were lucky to find this place, as not many places are open this time. Transalpina opens at the end of May, so not many people are willing to go up there. |All the rooms have a mountain view, a hammock on the balcony (I fell in love with it) and you can view the sun setting behind the mountains. |The room was clean, there is free wi-fi, and the staff was helpful.|When we arrived, there was nobody at the reception, and there are cards with telephone numbers displayed, we called and someone came in less than 2 minutes. |We told them we were hungry and they opened the restaurant for us, luckily we were happy with the food they were able to serve. In the morning, they knew we were in a hurry, so food was served quickly. |Amazing place, definitely recommend, even if just for...

First of all keep in mind that this breathtaking location near the Transalpina road is just started to develop so there aren't many choises when it cames to finding a place to stay. ||Now for the pension…there are a lot of things that they can improve like the breakfast which is quite scarce, fixing the problems in the rooms…for example the toilet bowl was not firmly glued to the floor and thus it was wigglying. ||The positive side is that all the rooms have a very nice mountain view. |The staff was ok, but sometimes they seemed to not know basic information like the menu of the restaurant, which are the natural attractions...
