Grand Hotel Ceahlău — Hotel in Piatra Neamț

I stayed at this hotel recently. At first glance it looks decent, but the conditions are really bad. In 2023 a minimum of conditions should go without saying. We did not have hot water. The explanation from the front desk was that this is how it is when the hotel is full and maybe if I let it run for half an hour, I might have a chance. So be careful if you do go, make sure the hotel is not full.

Wifi doesn't work and mobile data signal is very weak in the hotel, you basically have enough internet to send a text and that's about it.

Parking is not included, you have to have cash and give an the money to park to an angry guy who's guarding the parking lot, you can't pay it at the same time with the room, or with a debit/credit card based on an invoice or a receipt. You will not receive any proof of payment for the parking.

In conclusion, I think this location should be avoided as much as possible. There must be other locations with a minimum of decent conditions...

I stayed here 2 nights. The hotel is very old and needs renovation. I stayed in a single room that was cheap but quite clean. For the price that I paid , 90 Ron + 10 ron parking place was a good deal. The room is quite big and has a huge balcony with view towards the city center. There are many other hotels that cost 10 times the price that cannot offer such a view.|But surely there are also things that need to be improved. The main door is so old that I almost though that I went back in time. The bathroom , thou big and nice has still the old pipes. The breakfast is included so this is a big plus, the stuff was nice and friendly thou the ex communistic feeling was in the air.|But anyway, probably there are better rooms and things can be improved but I cannot complain, the hotel is in the city center and offers all the conditions for a nice staying, WiFi too, thou quite bad...

The tap water was red of rust…literally, red rust. The room was cold, we asked the staff to turn up the heat, 4 hours later it was still as cold. Only late in the night, maybe 3 am, we only had a bit of warmth in the heaters. The air conditioning remote had no batteries, because we tried to warm up the room in that manner, we asked the staff member for batteries. He went to look for batteries in a vacant room, he took them from a tv remote. Also, the parking at the front of the hotel does not belong to the hotel….if you park your car there, you have to pay a separate tax to some shady old dude who doesn’t even work for the hotel and the receipt he gave us had botched information regarding the “firm” he worked for. Most likely the firm does not exist at all and that guy’s activity is completely illegal there….but the hotel staff were ok and said it’s just how...
