Definitely not. I had a very bad experience with the Front Desk Guy from Pensiunea Lido. Briefly: All rooms are assigned when booked so you know from start that you have Room no 102, 103 etc and there is a different price per room. I visited Pensiunea Lido with one week before my bad experience and all was good but I was welcomed by a lady, not by the Front Desk Guy.
This time, I called one day before and asked when the Check In starts. I was told by a lady that it is at 12 noon. I have asked again several times and I told her that I need to leave the room at 1 PM ( had a wedding and needed to reach to the Church) so it is very important for me to get the room keys at 12 noon.
I arrived at 12 noon and I was "welcomed" by a Front Desk guy that told us without any piece of compassion that the Check In is at 13 PM not at 12 noon. He even show us the board with 13 PM as check in hour. All good, I explained to him that I called to ask about check in hour and told him I need a room as I was told. I asked if there is another free room and he told me that there is a room, but it is with 10 lei expensive than by booked room. I agree with that room ( i did not asked for a cheep room in the first place, they were the ones that assign it to me) and give him my ID for the check in formalities.
Then, I had the very bad idea to complain that it is not my fault all this situation and normally, I should receive the room at the same price. It was just to complain and make him understand that all this was not normal.
Then, he just went crazy, yelling and telling us that he is not the lady we discussed, he is him and it does not mater what was told on the phone. As we can see on the board, check in is at 13 PM. We asked his name and we asked the owner's name and we told him this attitude is not an attitude to welcome your clients.
He refused to introduce himself, refused to tell us the owner's name and also took off his name from his suit. My husband wanted to do a picture of him so we can do a complain and to show who this guy is. This action made him go mad and yelling a lot and even trying to take the bell from the desk and hit my husband with it. Then he called the security, moment when we manage to finally get out of the reception desk and go to the parking lot.
We discussed with the guys from the security and we explained to them that we were not the ones that were aggressive and he had a very bad behavior for someone that is in front of the customers. We went to the church and then we went to the Police. They were very nice ( big plus for the officers from Piatra Neamt) and they came to have a discussion with the guy. I will not tell here how he acted in front of the Police Officers, I will only tell that the Police Officers were also surprised that a guy like this is in that position in front of the customers.
P.S. We did not manage to reach to the owner of the Pensiunea Lido but we did an official complain to the authorities that are taking care of consumers rights here. If first I was very upset against this guy, now I decided to tell my story because I don't consider the owner cares a lot about his clients from the moment he has this type of guy taking care of his clients. At the end, I tried to explain to this guy that he represents Pensiunea Lido here, he is not himself. He told me very clear that the place is full and he does not need other clients, especially clients like us. He has clients anyway, we don't have to tell him how to behave. He is...
Read moreTotal disappointment – freezing cold, lack of respect, and poor conditions for the price|I stayed here for a few nights and, unfortunately, the experience was terrible. The heating was turned on only after our repeated requests and only for 1–2 hours starting at 10 PM, which was practically useless – the walls were cold and the building was never properly heated, even though it was extremely cold outside (around 7°C). The shower gasket was broken, and water was leaking all over the bathroom. There weren’t even any house slippers provided.|The room itself looks nice, but the cold was unbearable. We contacted the staff on the very first night asking them to fix the problem, and the response was shocking: “it’s not that cold” and “we can’t keep the heat on all night”, with a rude attitude, as if we were exaggerating.|On the second night we came back from a wedding at 4 AM to find the radiators completely cold, as if we were outside. The third night – the same story. The only “help” we received from reception was turning the heat on briefly around 10 PM. We had to sleep wearing pajamas, sweatpants, and even a hood, while the air in the room was freezing.|On top of that, during our entire stay no one came to empty the trash or wipe up the water in the bathroom – we had to handle everything ourselves.|For 190 lei per night, having to dress as if you’re outdoors and freeze is unacceptable. The only positives are the convenient location and the room’s appearance, but that’s it. I absolutely do not recommend...
Read moreDo not be misled by the photos if the rooms. The photos look nice but staying at this hotel is not. The girl in reception was more interested in her phone than checking me into the hotel. It wasn't until I asked if she worked at the hotel that she got up and checked me in. I also tried to make conversation with her about the local area but she was not helpful if interested in helping.|The hotel room was very cold. No heating until 7pm in the evening and then only very low heat. No heating in the morning when I got up at 7am. Very small towels only. Double bed is actually two singles pushed together. Very hard, bumpy uncomfortable bed. No double duvet, only two single duvets.|The room stank of cigarettes even though it was labled as a non smoking room. The bathroom stank of stale water.|Breakfast was advertised as available when I booked. When I arrived I was told the kitchen was not working so no breakfast or evening meal. However in the morning staff came out of the kitchen with a lovely looking breakfast for themselves. When I asked about breakfast again I was told the kitchen was closed to guests.|Parking is pay and display. There is no air-con even though they advertise as having it.|Throughout my stay I could always hear noise from other rooms and there was banging and thumping noises until late at night and starting again early in the morning.|I stayed in Romania for 10 nights travelling over 2000km and this night and this hotel was my only poor experience of the whole trip.|DO NOT STAY HERE,...
