We stopped recently at Popasul Ursilor for lunch. It was for the first time, for us, however it was disappointing. The personnel was very nice and the serving was fast, but the quality of the food was questionable. Fast food taste overall, and dehydrated salads, although it was repeatedly mentioned that all is fresh and taken from the local producers. The lemonade tasted bitter, and served without ice, although outside it was 30 degrees C. It rained for 10 minutes and from the terrace roof the water started to fall on the benches and tables. Ventilation of the terrace was nonexistent, and the kitchen smell was really strong. The prices were big in our opinion, for the offered quality. At the parking place in front of Popasul Ursilor, a person asked for 10 ron as payment, and when we received the ticket it was a 10 ron discount coupon for restaurant service, if the order was over 150 ron. We believe that the places for parking were public, since they have a parking place on the side. Next time when we visit Ursilor Cave we will definitely go to Glavoi for fresh tasty food at fair prices, beautiful view, and fresh...
Read moreRooms were modest and in 90’s/00’s style. No fridge, small balcony without furniture, not enough power sockets. Too expensive for this standard. Owner/manager can’t speak English. Cleaning lady left the doors to our room widely opened. „She forgot”… Breakfast was mediocre and pricy. In the middle of holidays period, this place was almost empty. In the end, it turned out that owner lowered the price at Booking.com (but we paid complete amount by cash at the check-in) to pay them lower commission and/or local taxes. I don’t recommend this place. I also don’t recommend this area. Foot paths are deteriorated and dirty. I mean: there are literally tons of communal waste in the trees just meteres away from the path. If there is a path at all. Apart from the Bear Cave there’s nothing interesting within a footwalk (~5km). Shame because this area has a...

An unforgettable experience! Cabana Popasul Urșilor is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax in nature and enjoy breathtaking landscapes. The area is absolutely stunning, with plenty of hiking trails and local attractions to explore nearby.
The cabin itself is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay — clean and cozy rooms, well-maintained facilities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The food is truly exceptional! I highly recommend the lamb pastrami – tender and full of flavor, the traditional tripe soup – one of the best I’ve ever had, and the trout with polenta – simply perfect. Don’t miss the homemade sour cherry liqueur (vișinată) or the local pălincă — they’re top-notch!
A wonderful place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy authentic Romanian hospitality. We’ll...
