Pensiunea Cheile Olteţului — Hotel in Polovragi

I did not rent a room there, but I went to eat there with friends/family a lot of times and usually had good experiences, but today, one day before the New Years, I wanted to bring friends and family to eat there for my birthday. I went inside and answered if they could serve us or they are only serving people who rented the rooms since it's probably very crowded and they have a lot of preparations to do for New Years. The guy I asked said that they can serve anybody, not just people who rented rooms and led us to our table. Then, a woman came to serve us but she talked and acted extremely rude towards us all the time, whenever I asked her anything she seemed to be very annoyed and mad, but acted very nice and friendly towards customers next to us who had rented rooms and were being very loud. We have been very polite towards her and other staff until the end, but she kept answering short and annoyed every time. That they can serve us but only have a few options ( I can understand why they have a few options, but don't understand the attitude). We ordered some extra food to go for some other people who couldn't come with us and when I asked her about it (40 minutes later) she rudely answered, raising the tone of her voice that I should just sit and wait. I was very disappointed with this experience, since before this I really enjoyed that place, but this experience has convinced me to not come back there. Every time we went there, we left big tips. This time, we did not tip at all. I wish people who work in restaurants learn that being nice to the people who come to eat there can only bring good things to them and...

the hosts are great, 5/5. the food is good, 3,5/5, tastes like homemade , not the best but decent ; however the breakfast was not as good as we expected. the rooms are ok, 2,5/5, because some of the sheets were not cleaned properly, as they had stains on them ; also the furniture was pretty used ; the tv was relatively good, we could watch a film on it from an usb stick , even though it wasn’t a smart tv . the location is absolutely amazing, 5/5, the view is magnificent, near you can see the polovragi cave(aprox 1 km) and the polovragi monastery (aprox 200 m) ; also there are some hiking trails you can follow, such as the one to urasche’s cross, which takes about 5 hours to finish as we heard...

Am avut o experienta foarte placuta la Pensiunea Cheile Oltetului. Am facut rezervarea telefonic, pentru ca voiam sa ma asigur ca nu sunt organizate evenimente pe parcusul sederii noastre, ne doream o zi linistita si relaxare in natura. Gazda a fost foarte amabila, mi-a dat mai multe optiuni pentru o familie cu copil si chiar mi-a trimis poze cu camera pe what's app. Camera a fost spatioasa si confortabila, poate chiar un pic peste asteptari, la categoria aceasta de confort. Am apreciat mult faptul ca e un mini-frigider in camera. Am stat un pic cu teama, stiind ca nu avem aer conditionat si calatorind in perioda de canicula, dar cu toate acestea in camera nu a fost prea cald pe timpul noptii si ne-am putut odihni bine. Am servit toate mesele pe terase pensiunii. Am apreciat umbra copacilor, spatiul de joaca generos in curtea interioara si mai ales vederea superba. Ciorbele au fost destul de bune pentru pretul platit (sub 20 de lei) chiar daca supa de fazan nu avea fazan :) Citisem un alt review si am asistat si la o discutie pe terasa in care alt client era nemultumit de acest lucru. Poate o redenumire sau ceva precizari ar preveni unele situatii. La cina am luat obrajorii de vita si tocanul de oaie. Preturile preparatelor principale sunt mai mari (in jur de 60 de lei) dar portiile sunt generoase si noua ne-a placut mancarea. Doamna care ne-a servit a fost chiar draguta si ne-a avertizat ca 3 portii de mancare ar fi prea mult pentru 2 adulti si un copil. Locatia e pricipalul atu al pensiunii, zona e frumoasa si linistita. La doar cateva minute e tabara de sculptura in lemn, apoi manastirea Polovragi. Am facut si o scurta drumetie prin cheile Oltetului pana la Pestera Polovragi. Peisajul prin chei e foarte frumos, dar drumul era destul de circulat si masinile ridicau praful. Daca vreti sa vizitati pestera, pregati-va cu niste haine groase, in pestera sunt doar 8-9 grade.
