Pensiunea RARA PALTINIS — Hotel in Poplaca

Having in mind the booking rating and the considerable price for a pension, we made the mistake to assume that the services were good. However, things are not always as they seem :||||- parking full of restaurant customers (main focus of the establishment, hence our problem), we needed to find a parking spot in the main road ||||-lack of small minibar or refrigerator - Păltiniș is in the middle of nowhere (25km from any grocery shop) , no room service available so in case we needed some water or beer after dinner it was verboten. I understand the main focus was on restaurant, however the poor and stupid tourists that chosen to stay at Rara were neglected. ||||- breakfast was served until 11.00 AM, however at 10 AM we found two things : 1)all food was gone and 2) the waiter/receptionist guy had a bad attitude when asked to bring food. Only when I demanded to see the owner the guy came to the table to apologise and made some effort of recovery after poor customer service ||||There were some good signs of service, they let me to bring food from restaurant to my room and also they found a way to offer a cup of warm milk for the kid, outside menu. ||||Păltiniș is a quiet place to visit however I would not recommend to stay there more than one night, and not...

The hosts were very friendly and nice. The restaurant staff was helpful. The breakfast had a really good variety (way better than many of the places we've been to). The food from the restaurant was very tasty (although a smaller amount of dishes are available during summer). The rooms were nice and the bathroom also had a powerful hair dryer. The location is really good (both for summer and winter), being about 2-3 minutes away from the Platos Arena (mountainside resort with both summer and winter activities).

The rooms on the back (the ones marketed as hill view rooms), especially the ones on the first floor are situated right above the heating facility of the location, making it very hot and smoky during the night. We slept with the window open on the first night and upon realising that smoke from the heating facility kept entering the room, we decided to sleep with the bathroom window open only on the following night (as it was on the side of...

Rara Guest House for 2 nights stay 2adults+1child was a wonderful experience. The room was spottles and had a big bed for the child and an awesome for us. The atmosphere was very cosy, warmed rooms, modern shower, the beds had very comfortable mattresses and cushionsx2.

The food is above any expectation, try the "ciorba de vita" and "ciolan" :-).

Rara has a very nice view and if you want to go skiing during winter, it's near the slopes. The check in & check out procedures was fast and simple. They have parking spaces on the premises and the staff is well prepared for any queries you might have. I recomend this place for any...
