Well I came here because of the very positive review in the Lonely Planet. ||||If you arrive by train, as I did, be warned that it is a good 3 km walk from the train track to the centre of Sibiel and then another approx. 1.5-2 km to this guest house - keep going up the hill!!! Or maybe phone Sorin as he kindly gave me a lift on the way back.||||I do though think it's worth making the effort to come here. I loved the sound of bells from the cows and horses which were free to graze where they wished, And I loved the icons and shrines throughout this village, all the wells, and the beautiful buildings||||And so, in truth, this village wowed me more than Marmures - it is beautiful here. ||||Also there is a lovely walk above the guest house to the monastery.||||And so the guesthouse - Sorin is an interesting independent thinking and warm manager.||||My room was immaculately clean and so beautifully sweet and simple.||||I also loved Sorin's openness to discussing communism and his museum. ||||During my stay I noted there were no restaurants or places that sold authentic food but Sorin does have a reasonably priced takeaway menu - I ordered a pizza and it was only 15 mins for it to be delivered. ||||Good luck Sorin and thank you for being so kind xx||||||Sorin has built many interesting quirks - you have to visit to appreciate it's...

Read morewe arrived at about noon and we were greeted by Mrs. Coldea (the owner). Although they said that we could bring pets the first think was somethinl like "oh, you brought your dog (and a very evil face))...||After this se showed us the room and after this we went up the hill to look around and pick up some (let's say a handfull) raspberries and she came along and yelles at us that "you've just came along and you are eating all my raspberries".||Say whay?!||||The room was quite small, cleanish but in the bathroom there was a specific smell. ||||Garden is fine, lots if flowers and old things to see (i think that Mr Coldea is or was a history teacher).||||You can't have lunch/dinner and you have to go all the way to Silistea (4km) or why not Sibiu (25min drive).||||Anyway, even it is fine, the attitude of the owner made us to change our mind. If not bood by booking.com we could cancel and go...
