Pensiunea Sibiel — Hotel in Săliște

Amazing dishes!

We got here by walking as we were in the area. They do serve you even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

You could really feel the fresh produce used during cooking of the dishes. I swear the Potatoes and Smoked meat Stew were exactly as my grandma made it and it was delicious.

The Warm Platter was really good and filling, it had homemade pastrami, some sausages and breaded fried cheese with some pickled veggies. We paired it with the Ardelenești fries.

Lastly, we had the best fried papanași we ever had. The sour cream was so smooth and nice and creamy(we asked the waiter and it was something made locally from a nearby village), it worked perfectly with the blueberry jam and the fluffy and cheesy papanasi (smth similar to fried donuts, but the dough has cheese...

The staff is rude and unfriendly, we needed information about how to reach the destination as Google Maps didn't show accurate position and the person of contact I called for information was angry about this and started to call me stupid because I cannot find the place. I ended up finding another accomodation to stay over the night (even if I paid online for the room) as the person of contact couldn't have a proper conversation and helping me finding their place. Therefore, I don't recommend this place as these kind of people with such behavior don't deserve to activate in...

This pension is okay for a 1 night stop! The room is very small, the decoration is poor! Our room had a big water stain on the roof and there was no light cover over the light in the bathroom (very dangerous)!!! Outside area leaves a lot to be desired and there is no fence next to the river / stream, again, dangerous when you have young children! Owner and Staff very distant and the restaurant menu leaves a lot to be desired. Definately not 3 star accomodation and very overpriced! Look...
