Floare de Maramureș — Hotel in Sighetu Marmatiei

Poor customer service. Great pictures. We did a lot of research before heading on our vacation and the pictures on the website fooled us. The place is ok but being impressed with the presentation we ignored the fact that is pretty far off the main road. We were shown to our rooms when we got there and that is about it. We asked for breakfast, and we got a decent breakfast the next morning, but the following morning we were told that we do not get any breakfast because we did not order it the night before !? We did not anticipate that we have to ask for it every day since we asked the first day. They have a sauna/jacuzzi type room but when we asked if we can use she replied that since covid started it is not worth it for her to heat up the water for just one family so she is not offering it anymore. When we left we complained about the fact that she was not very welcoming and we were expecting a bit more. One thing we mentioned is that in other places in the area we were welcomed with "tuica" and she replied very offendedly that she has "tuica" in the eating area for everybody. We were never offered anything and plus in the regulations printed in the room stated that we are not to enter the eating area uninvited. Not a bad place if she learns how to treat customers, but not an exceptional...

+: If you want to experience the true feeling of Maramures (warm & welcoming people, nice surroundings, good food, traditional houses) this is the place to stay. We stayed for one night only, but we loved the place. It is an old house that was renovated, everything is very clean & nice, decorated with traditional carpets & wall tapestries. The host was very nice and warm, she made sure we were comfortable, served us with the local horinca (palinca), we arrived in the evening and were a bit hungry so she drove us to her family's trout farm, where they served us fish & polenta (mamaliga) for a cheap price. In the morning she came to make us coffee and make sure we are ok with everything, we discussed a lot and got to know her and also her grandma, a wonderful lady.||And there is also WIFI (the password is written on a piece of paper in the room).||-: Being in a village of Maramures, the place is not at the main road and may be just a little difficult to find, but there is paved road till the property and we kept in contact with the host and she...

A very amazing Accomodation located in the middle of nature , beautiful view and close to the locals habits. The rooms are spacious enough , very comfortable, clean , warm and welcoming. The host very welcoming and adapting on customers need , highly responsive to new suggestions, presenting the local culture and dishes in a extraordinary manner.
