Ok, we haven’t seen ALL guesthouses in Maramures but we have tried a few and really, not one compares to this one, although several are quite nice.|The setting in the middle of nature, the way the houses look, the big garden, the cleanliness and the food make it unique.|We stayed here 3 times so far and we can see that they’re investing in the place - it seems to improve from one year to the other.|We love that it’s pretty far from the main road, love the large yard with so much space to walk and enjoy the silence, green grass everywhere, flowers in the front and a small orchard in the back, it’s simply heaven to be there, especially in summer and early autumn.|Some watch-outs: traditional food in this part of the country is based on meat; if you’re vegetarian, you need to be clear about it from the start. Read moreI love staying here. I have been coming regular since 2007 so I know it very well. Doina is a kind considerate host who will help in any way she can. She speaks vey little English but her partner Radu and her son Pavel are usually around and both speak good English. The rooms are comfortable with good beds. Vadu Izei is full of dogs which bark through the night. Doina has one dog at the back which barks very little. There is a constant noise of babbling water which gives me a great sleep with the window open. It remains my first choice place to stay...
