Fanea Residence — Hotel in Timișoara

The residence was very nice, a striking marble when you first enter. The keypad entry was a nice touch as we got into town later than anticipated. The room was nice, the bed was big and the television worked. It was a quick walk to some of the sites but it's not terribly close so if you plan on walking it might not be the best choice despite the excellent price point. The biggest down side was that the carpet was surprisingly dirty which was kind of off-putting as I like to stretch each day. The air conditioner in the room doesn’t blow any air at all — it seems more like a decorative item. The mini fridge also doesn’t cool even after being plugged in, as if it’s just for display. Is this a way to deceive guests who book a stay?

We recommend that the host repair these issues before renting out the room again.

There are 15 of us traveling together, and overall, our experience wasn’t very good. We stayed in Room 13 on the 2nd floor, and the air conditioner was completely non-functional — no airflow at all, clearly broken.

The hotel is very nicely equipped, elegant, the rooms are spacious, the triple windows, the bathrooms are well equipped, I found the room to be clean. TV in the room, mini fridge, a wardrobe, everything you could need for a mini vacation or a city stop. Unfortunately the location is not great because of many "restless" people on the street at night, no problem during the day, but at night, it is to be taken into account.
