Absolutely lovely home and family! We only ended up stay one night during our trip to Piatra Craiului in late October 2016, but if we had known how amazing Ligia and her parents Ion and Monica were, we would have arranged our schedule otherwise. From the minute we parked our car outside their shop, we were treated like family. They brought us a seemingly endless supply of cookies and hot tea, later accompanied by fresh apples, and then snacks the next morning at the crack of dawn before our hike. I think we were the only guests that night and one of our favorite moments of the trip was Ion using his limited English to offer us local honey as a gift during our honeymoon. The only complaint would be weak wifi in the room (super fast in the common areas), but it might be because we were visiting during their low season. Without a doubt, if you are staying in Zarnesti or planning to hike Piatra Craiului, this is where you...
Read moreWhere to start about how wonderful this hotel is. Actually I'll start with the owner who is truly one of the world's nicest, kindest people. She was an angel and went out of her way to help us in every way positive, even comforting me after a tough morning. She also got us some amazing special Hungerian spirit at all hours, advised on the area and the treks, suggested activities and where we should stay next. The world needs more positive people like this.||||The hotel looks really beautiful. The rooms are big, comfy and well equipped. The shower was great. The balcony lovey||||The doggo absolutely adorable. ||||I couldn't recommend staying here more. The best hotelier I have ever meet and my heart is happier that I was able to.||||My only negative is that we couldn't have stayed longer. And the photos on here don't do it justice - it is truly far more beautiful irl. ||||Thank...
Read moreWe have spent a week at Kyfana as a base for our family trip to Transilvania. This was one of the best decisions we made. The location is excellent, located very close to Prapastiilor valley, Brasov, Rasnov, Bran, The bear sanctuary and all the best Transilvania attractions, but is still in the countryside and not in a big city. The town has excellent restaurants and multiple grocery stores (a small one is within the pension). The rooms are very spacious and cosy, and are maintained very well, most are with a small balcony with a splendid view of the mountains. The owners (Ligia and her parents) are amazing people with a positive attitude, which affected us and the kids for the best. They gave us invaluable tips for our trip that made it even better. When we will be back to Transilvania we will definitely...
