We stayed at Nouvelle Europe for two days.||||Location:||Nouvelle Europe is located about four lanes away from Mayakovskaya metro station (green colored line-3) on Nevsky Prospekt. We could take a walk to 'Savior on the Spilled blood' and 'Kazan Cathedral' which are approximately two kms away. There are many restaurants and cafes around, especially on Nevsky Prospekt. There are nearby banks as well for exchanging currency. Since the hotel is located on mainland, there is no need to bother much about the bridges' closing hours. ||||Hotel:||It took us a while to figure out and reach the hotel. The hotel building appears as an apartment which is quite misleading. Also, since a key is required at the building entrance, it was a little hassle to contact the staff early in the morning (early check-in) and get in.||||Rooms:||We had booked two rooms - double standard room and single standard room. Both the rooms were tidy and comfortable with good storage space and clean bathrooms. Free Wifi is available.||||Breakfast:||The breakfast spread had variety and was sumptuous. It was inclusive of the room price. It was more than what we could ask for (especially since we are vegetarians).||||Staff:||When we conversed with the hotel through emails for booking our rooms, we always got prompt responses. Even during our stay, the front-desk staff were approachable, cordial and English-speaking. They went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. They helped us with maps and other important information. They also obliged to look after our luggage after checkout, while we went on our day trip. We were charged half-day price for early check-in. Nouvelle Europe is one of those few hotels in the city, which offer half-day price for an early check-in.||||All in all, a very convenient, fairly priced option with helpful...

Read moreAs a foreigner travelling solo, this hotel was perfect. The desk was big enough and the closet was big enough. The reception team was lovely and kind, always ready to help out if needed. This was important to me as being an Australian, there are strict guidelines on Tourist Visas but the staff managed to help me out.
It is fairly central with great cafes right under the hotel. I loved my stay in this place and would reccommend anyone travelling solo to check it out. At the time of stay, there was constructions going on at the building of the hotel. This meant alot of dust floating from outside would travel inside, however the Hotel did warn me about this in an email. It could be solved by simply closing...
