The rooms are massive for the price that I paid. The room I was in had living room, a walk-in wardrobe, a store room and a decent sized toilet with bathtub. Very Russian style design theme going in the rooms. Hotel is beautiful. Set amongst lush greenery and canal in front in which you can see folks canoeing or competitive boat rowing. Nearest Metro station is Krestovskiv Ostrov, and taking the metro is very easy and straight forward. First you buy the token (Coin sized token with the letter 'M' on it) from the token seller (Located on the right side upon entering the Metro station. Slot the token into the gantry and you're in. The escalators going down are very long and downwards. Almost feels like you're going into a Mine! Just take a snapshot of the Metro station map for reference. It is stated in Russian and English. There is a shuttle bus to/fro from Hotel to Metro station every half hour or so. Hotel seems to be popular amongst the locals too. I spoke to couples from Moscow who are on holiday to St Peter and they too like this hotel. There is a bar and restraint next to the lobby The menus were in Russian though. And the services by the staffs, were lets just say, very russian. But I didn't expect much either so I was okay with this aspect. Big Parking lot.The park next to the hotel is vast and beautiful! Lush greenery and water fountain. I ended up walking to and from the Metro Station because I enjoyed walking in the park, the birds chirping away , friendly pet dogs having a blast running all over. Next to the park, there is a amusement park and several café/ restraunts/ food stands. Good place for family or couples I reckon. Safe area with very vigilant and tough looking security guard. Near the Metro station, there is a medical centre, a steakhouse, convenience shop Will definitely stay here again if I come to St....
Read moreIf you are in St Petersburg for tourism, do not book this hotel as it is far away from the centre. It is 20-30 mins walk to the nearest metro. But if you are attending a sports event at the nearby arenas (as I was) then location is convenient. Note: never ever book Hotel Arena which is close by - local youth use their parking lot for drifting so sound from revving cars is nonstop every night!||Also in Krestovsky ask for a room facing the woods, not the big sports arena. I had room 173 which was nice and quiet. The arena uses tapes of birds in distress complete with gunshots to repel birds in the evening, and that tape is played on a loop and can be heard too clearly if your room faces that way!||Krestovsky is big, so the walk to your room along corridors can be long, but rooms are spacious and modern enough with a mini fridge (not always working perfectly) and old fashioned hair dryers (bring your own). Bathroom clean and ok.||Breakfast selection was good with eggs, bacon, potatoes, chicken wings (!!), some vegetables and lots of pastries, juice and a selection of coffees.||Staff does not speak English much but sign language always helps :). Bar lounge nice but...
Read moreIt is a nice 3 starts hotel. It is the exact rating for it. ||The hotel is clean, the staff is nice and tries to help. I was in family room which is quite big (2 rooms with 2 bathrooms and a living room). The room was cleaned every day and towels changed. The room has no mineral water and no phone to call to a reception. ||There are 4 floors in the hotel, we were on the last floor which was nice but the ceiling in the rooms was low so you need to take that into account. It is not a problem but some people may not like it.||The breakfast was buffet, very simple but it was OK.||There is a shuttle from the hotel to/from the nearest metro station every 1/2 hour, which is very convenient. In the winter there is nothing you can do on that island so you need to go to the city by metro. Probably in the summer there are more things you can do there and maybe some additional...
