BaikalWood Hotel — Hotel in Хужирское сельское поселение

We loved Baikal Wood Eco Hotel! We went to Olkhon Island 12 years ago in 2008, when there was no infrastructure at all, no showers, no comforts and only basically one homestead for travellers. Many things have changed since then!||||We chose Baikal Wood Eco Hotel based on the beautiful pictures and description and were not dissapointed!||||1) Great location/place.||Right next to the forest, many rooms come with a sea and village view (ensure when booking to get a room with a view if you want that). Walking distance to the store (Khorishiy), Shamanka is not far, beach is all walkable distance.||||2) Hotel complex.||The hotel consists of several smaller wooden buildings. Buildings for accommodation, Sauna and spa complex and Restaurant. Beautiful courtyard with garden, children's playground and outdoor gym. Restaurant has outdoor seating for summer and a beautiful indoor space, beautifully decorated, stylish and beautiful Eco minimalism with a lot of natural materials and wood. - We loved it!||||3) Professional service and great staff.||From the first communication with manager Svetlana you have a great experience. Very professional, helpful and personal attention to organizing transfer or personal requests, questions, etc. Also assists with booking tours. The entire staff is very professional, very friendly, amazing - which is not everywhere to be found in Russia. You have a feeling that the management has very good managerial skills and keeps a very functioning and service oriented approach among all of the employees. Its a family run small hotel. The service level is comparable with any international comparable establishment.||||4) The room.||We got upgraded (thank you very much!) to a sea view room. It was amazing to wake up to the views of the lake! The room was spacious, with couch, table and double bed, fridge, tea cattle, storage shelves. Well equipped bathroom with amenities, good sized towels. Beds are very comfortable and you get a nice comforter blanket. Enough hot water for shower. Very clean and a very pleasent smell from the wood the hotel is made of. It is a wooden made hotel, so you noise travels in general, but we never had a problem with that, other guests are very respectful and there were no issues with noise disturbance at all.||||5) Restaurant.||Breakfast buffet is included and served int he restaurant. Very generous and delicious breakfast! Eggs at least 2 kinds, warm and cold vegetables, sausages, chicken or fresh smoked and fried fish (depending on the day), cold cuts, yoghurts, fruits, sweets, fresh baked bread, muesli....tea, mors and compotte, water. Before we came I read other reviews that were having some compaints about the breakfast so naturally we were very surprised when we arrived that the breakfast was actually very plentiful and great! Lunch and dinner selection is paid extra and also has a great selection of dishes, Siberian and European. Tipp, try their pizza!||||6) Spa and Sauna||Nice wooden sauna with outdoor hot tub (they call it Japanese banya I think). Massage and spa treatments are also highly recommended, spa menu includes Siberian and Thai procedures, menu at reception! Highly recommended to try, as they use Siberian oils and cosmetics for the procedures.||||7) Wifi available and also Russian cellphone network (Beeline) for us worked very well.||||Very relaxing place, family friendly but same time perfect for a relaxing couple vacation, spa vacation and for exploring the island! We had a wonderful stay at BaikalWood – alas, too short. The hotel is brand new and is well situated for a stroll to Shaman Rock, yet is located a bit away from “downtown” Khuzir, which means it is totally quiet and peaceful – nice views down towards town, the lake, and the mountains beyond.|| ||Your host at BaikalWood, Svetlana, is beautiful, charming, and accommodating – she speaks fluent English and Chinese, and is totally engaging with her guests – offering advice, making sure all is fine, always with an infectious smile. We felt totally at home. The hotel is new (in its second season) and the furniture and fittings are in tip-top condition – spotlessly clean. The hotel consists of two buildings, one seemingly built just over the past year – all out of wood, befitting its surroundings. So, as always in a wooden building, some sounds carry (footsteps and loud conversation), but certainly the guests settle down by 22:00 in the evening and you won't hear anything, especially not street noises as would be the case with hotels in the heart of Khuzhir. The rooms are spacious, look fresh, each room having slightly different décor – the rooms closest to reception have stronger wifi. Perhaps with the upstairs rooms you would not even hear footsteps elsewhere in the building.|| ||We ate at the hotel, and had a nice dinner – absolutely the best was the local fish, just grilled. They have a decent collection of wine, including Russian wine, which is totally apt for the occasion and surroundings. See my dinner pics which I am posting with this review.|| ||If you wish to leave early the next morning (say to drive up to the north of Olkhon Island before anyone else), ever-helpful Svetlana is happy to organise an earlier breakfast for a small extra cost of 1,000 roubles – very convenient to be the first on the road to the north. We left our luggage at the hotel so that it would not roll around the vehicle on our drive up north and then collected it in the evening on our way past Khuzhir en route to Irkutsk – again, Svetlana is very obliging and happily looked after our bags for the day.|| ||I totally recommend BaikalWood as your accommodation on Olkhon Island – the setting is perfect, and the service is warm and genuine. I’d love to return to see Olkhon Island in the summer. I regret that we did not have time to try the spa – certainly we will make time on the next trip. Посетили данный отель в июле 2024г. Отдыхали, если так можно это назвать отдыхом 4 взрослых +1 ребенок. Проживали в арт-номерах.|Предварительно, изучив расположение отеля и так как для нас важно, чтобы на территории было тихо и спокойно, не было громкой музыки и анимации позвонили и уточнили так ли это, нас заверили, да, это так. |Сначала отмечу плюсы данного отеля:|- красиво оформленная зона ресепшен, зона отдыха с бассейном, зона для детей у основных корпусов|- много цветов у основных корпусов и это приятно|- сотрудница, которая нас размещала, Ирина, старалась по возможности помочь|На этом плюсы пребывания заканчиваются. Сразу скажу, мы прервали отдых и уехали на день раньше.|Что не понравилось:|- место, где мы проживали, так называемые арт-номера, находятся чуть далее от основной зоны, и территория совсем не обустроена, стоят домики, а посредине облезлая, вытоптанная поляна, эстетика еще та….|- чтобы было понимание приватности места, представьте 2 вытянутых в длину дома, расположенных друг напротив друга, стоящих на единой линии, на одной стороне, примерно с 6-7 номерами и напротив дом с таким же количеством номеров, вы сидите на веранде и буквально в нескольких метрах напротив, сидят еще 6-7 семей, и все понятное дело, ведут диалог |- номера, у нас их было 2, вроде новые, но больше похожи на будки, темные и маленькие, неуютные, матрасы очень неудобные. |- удивительный завтрак, честно говоря, думала, такого уже в принципе нигде нет. Начинается он с 8:30, мы пришли погулять на территорию к 8:10 и народ стоял ждал открытия (оно и понятно, завтрак должен начинаться с 7:00 до 9:00, многие люди встают рано), в 8:30 когда открыли вход, все начали активно заходить, но пища была расположена у входа на нескольких столах и сразу скопилась пробка. Смешно было смотреть как люди взяв тарелку стоят по 5-10 минут и ждут очереди подойти к столу, у некоторых мужчин сдавали нервы, и они начинали активно прорываться и накладывать пищу, которой было не так много. Что касается ассортимента, то он крайне слабый. Так тонко резать фрукты, апельсины, яблоки надо постараться. Очень, очень скудно….|- но, конечно, все эти недочеты можно пережить, есть посерьезнее проблема – полное отсутствие тишины. Мы приехали в будний день и заселились в 15:00, затем пошли на пляж и пообедали, а вернувшись в 18:00, увидели следующую картину, соседи напротив, вытащили на центр поляны музыкальную колонку и включили ее достаточно громко, а сами разместились на террасе и стали выпивать пиво, ящик они внесли прямо на наших глазах, стали громко разговаривать, как это бывает, когда люди выпьют. Мы отдыхали с ребенком и в целом, рассматривая данный отель подразумевающую концепцию Eco – Lodge, никак не ожидали, что в таком прекрасном месте как Ольхон, возможна гремящая музыка и выпивающая шумная компания в том месте, где люди живут и спят, как правило, для этого есть отдельные зоны или ресторан. Мы связались с администратором и попросили выключить музыку, так как очень хотелось наслаждаться прекрасными видами, а не слушать громкие разговоры подвыпивших людей, сидящих напротив. Музыка на некоторое время стихла, но спустя час, компания разгорячилась и стали то включать, то выключать музыку. Муж пошел разбираться и у нас произошел конфликт. Мы пригласили управляющую, на что получили ответ – это общественное пространство, мол ничего страшного, люди отдыхают. На вопрос, что есть нормы поведения в данном пространстве получили ответ о законе о тишине, который действует с 23:00. |О том, что есть законодательные нормы, регламентирующие уровень шума в дневное время и ночное 40 -55 дб, а это звук обычного голоса здесь не знают и знать не хотят.|Решать вашу проблему никто не намерен, люди отдыхают и слава богу, не мешайте со своей тишиной. |Ольхон очень красивое место и многие, приезжают сюда зарядиться от природы и насладиться тишиной. |Приезжая сюда, у людей должно быть понимание, что, если кто-то захочет послушать громко музыку или на террасе громко распивать спиртные напитки и общаться – здесь это допустимо и вы будете вынуждены слушать и репертуар, и разговоры. | В нашем случае, после конфликта музыка выключилась, а громкие разговоры, в том числе матерные выражения продолжались до часу ночи. Поддержки со стороны администрации у нас не было никакой, общественное так сказать пространство, терпите…… |Этот отель, больше подходит тем, кто предпочитает немного другой отдых. |Мы планировали быть в отеле 2 суток, но утром уехали, деньги нам вернули, но отдых оставил очень неприятные воспоминания.|Этим отзывом я выражаю сугубо наш опыт, в заключении скажу – не рекомендуем это место людям, любящим тишину и комфорт и сказать, что здесь есть качественный сервис я тоже не могу, так как было много...
