Grand Lily Hotel Suites جراند لي لي — Hotel in Al Ahsa Governorate

We booked two rooms for two nights, one for ourselves, and one for our daughters. During our stay we each had to request new rooms because the sewage smell coming up through the pipes in the bathrooms was overwhelming. ||||Hair was still on the floor in the bathroom from the previous occupant. The shower in our first room was dirty, and the glass was covered in soap/shampoo spots. ||||The rooms weren't made up each day which isn't usually a problem if you are informed of that (which we weren't), and if they leave enough toilet paper, soap, towels, bottled water (cause you really can't drink the tap water) etc to use on the second day - which they didn't. The bathroom tap in the second bathroom didn't work. The remote controls for the TV's in the rooms needed new batteries and worked sporadically, and the internet was absolutely terrible and dropped off every few minutes. We were told the issue with the internet was because the hotel was full. ||||The beds are very firm, which is usual for this part of the world, and the air con was very loud in the bedroom. ||||The staff were pleasant but very slow at fixing any issues. We waited two hours for our daughters to be able to change rooms on the second evening (due to the smell) and we waited even longer for them to drop off our requested bottled water, towels and toilet paper, so much so that at the finish we had to go and collect these things ourselves. ||||The kitchenette in the rooms have two bowls in the cupboard, two glasses and two cups, but no cutlery or plates, and nothing with which to wash the dishes with if you use them. No dishwashing detergent, or cloth to dry anything with. Which worried me how they clean these items between guests. The tea bags you could use weren't in a wrapper so didnt feel hygienic or safe to use.||||I wouldn't stay here again, and definitely wouldn't recommend anyone stay here until they fix their sewage problems and offer even a basic room service that you would...

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. First impressions were great. The interior of the hotel is light, modern and pleasant. First impressions for the room were also great. The room was huge with a separate bedroom, bathroom and lounge/kitchenette. It was clean, bright and the aircon worked (although the thermostat was a bit random). You get 2 TV's with access to over a thousand satellite channels, about 20 of which were in English. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains were excellent. I was on the train track side so did get woken by the odd passing freight train in the night. The bathroom was well decorated with good fittings and a separate glass shower cubicle with an excellent shower.||||All sounds great but then you get the negatives;||- didn't make-up my room after the first night.||- only 2 coffee and tea bag sachets which had to last me 2 days!||- only 2 coat hangers||- great kitchenette furniture but no cook top or microwave to heat or cook food.||- only 2 bowls provided (no plates, no washing up gear, no utensils, etc.)||- sparsely furnished so not only did it not feel homely, but it echoed.||- room safe was broken (like unfixable broken)||- only 1 tiny bar of soap provided||- no hand towels provided||- WiFi at the limits of its range in the bedroom but OK in the lounge area||||Each one is a small point but there were lots of them. The management needs to stay a night in their hotel and act like a guest and then they will realise that the little things make an average hotel a very good hotel.||||I hope they read this and act on these little things because I probably would...

I absolutely loved my four-day stay there! The service was outstanding, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. The location was perfect, with a great pizza spot and a dessert shop just next door, making it super convenient. While the amenities were good, the Wi-Fi was decent—not exceptional, but it got the job done for basic needs. However, our room door had an issue with the card not working, so I had to go through a family member's room to access mine. On the bright side, the temperature in the room was absolutely fine with no problems. The bathroom was great—clean and well-kept. The atmosphere was cozy, and the noise levels were perfectly quiet, which I loved, especially considering we were probably the only ones making any noise, even though there are people who live there.
