I had a truly pleasant stay at Retaj Al Rawda Hotel. The hotel is affordable, clean, and very well-maintained. The rooms are spotless, and the atmosphere is welcoming. One of the best aspects of this hotel is its people. The receptionist, housekeeping staff, and even the owner are extremely kind, humble, honest, and very helpful. They go above and beyond to make pilgrims feel at home, patiently answering queries and ensuring that everyone’s stay is comfortable. The location is excellent — just about a 10-minute walk to Masjid Al Nabawi (Madinah Al Munawwarah), which makes it very convenient for those visiting for prayers and ziyarat. During my stay, however, I noticed a serious issue outside the hotel. There are some individuals in the area (Salim, Hassani, Ashraf) who pretend to be helpful, promising pilgrims guidance, comfort, and safety, but later cheat and overcharge for services like ziyarat trips. This can spoil the beautiful experience of the holy journey. My advice to fellow pilgrims is to stay cautious and avoid dealing with such people. If you wish to go for madina historical places ziyarat with a guide, I strongly recommend arranging it through the hotel staff or receptionist. They are trustworthy and will connect you with the right people. The actual cost of ziyarat is just 10 riyals per person when booked through the hotel’s proper contacts, so do not fall prey to those who overcharge. Overall, my experience at Retaj Al Rawda Hotel was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madinah. It combines affordability, comfort, honesty, and proximity to the Haram, making it a wonderful choice for pilgrims. Attaching the pic of the fraudulent who fooled me in the name of ziyarat. Hardly took only one place which was near to the hotel and charged...
Read moreOur stay at Retaj Al Rawda was extremely disappointing. The rooms are very congested and far from what one would expect in a hotel of this category. For a 7-story building, only two lifts were working, leading to constant delays. In one case, I saw an elderly family waiting patiently for the lift, but the staff prioritized sending up their cleaning trolley instead, forcing the family to wait another 5 minutes. This reflects a complete lack of customer care.
Housekeeping staff went as far as demanding cash, which is highly unprofessional. The service standard overall was comparable to a street-side local hotel in Bangladesh, not a hotel in Madina where guests expect respect and hospitality.
The only smooth part of our experience was the check-in, which was handled well because of our travel agent, not the hotel. Retaj Al Rawda urgently needs to work on staff training, customer service, and also expand its extremely cramped waiting lobby.
At present, this hotel does not meet even basic expectations for comfort or...
Read moreMore expensive than 4 star in Mecca. Maybe different market dynamics. But if your hotel rooms are small, at least donot place large sidetable lamps. Unnecessary stuff made it look congested. Velvet curtains, layered beddings, carpet could have been replaced by plain curtains, simple beddings and no carpet to reduce dust in air and make room look spacious and neat. No housekeeping, if nothing at least provide toilet rolls on daily basis. Only one key for room. We were two persons with our own schedule so needed two keys. And the noise outside ! Boy ! It was getting on nerves. Repetitive yelling of...
