I stayed for a 3 month stint whilst working on the Riyadh season. The hotel is lovely and the waiters and general staff are really warm and friendly. ||The “managers” on the other hand are the opposite and try to extract as much money as possible out of each and every guest staying within the hotel. ||Halfway through staying there, I used the shower the same way I had been using it for the previous month and a half by sliding the glass door open and closed. On one morning it fell off its runners and shattered around me slicing my foot open in multiple places. Housekeeping came to change the door and were kind about it asking me how my foot was. I asked if I would be charged for the door, and they said “No sir, don’t break again”. ||I did not complain about my foot or try to seek compensation of any kind from the hotel and forgot about it until they tried to charge me 800 SAR on our checkout day. ||I refused to pay for the door and they went to fetch the manager who told me it was my fault because “before I moved in, it was fine, and then it break”. I asked him if there was any possibility that the door had come off it’s runners or hadn’t been hung correctly and he told me “I am 100% certain it was nothing wrong from us”. ||Two robes were in each villa when we arrived for the guests to wear. When the villa was cleaned, the cleaners took both the robes to be dry cleaned and only returned one robe later that day. This was added on as another charge of 300 SAR as again as usual we were told that every villa came with two robes, and now there was one...||There were 3 televisions in the villa (one downstairs and one in each bedroom upstairs). Again when the cleaners came another day and collected the bedding from the master bedroom the tv remote was wrapped up with the sheets and taken away. Again we were accused of taking the remote or losing/breaking the remote and were charged an additional 50 SAR. ||The argument for this one was “if housekeeping had accidentally taken the remote, then they would have handed it in to reception. Having seen the way the cleaning staff and waiting staff are treated by the managers, I’m not surprised if they would never tell them about such a mistake for the fear of being fired on the spot. ||Each day we had been there, there had been 5 managers on site at all times. I have no idea why as only one was useful and would actually value your feedback whilst not talking to his own staff like they were lesser. The other four were just waiting for you to checkout so that they could rip you off. ||All in all, the hotel is lovely, the villas themselves are pretty much perfect and the general staff were incredibly nice. My suggestion is fire the suit men and use their salary instead of ripping off customers who would come back here and continue to give you...
