Hôtel Tahiti — Hotel in Dakar

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and the staff could not have cared less. The room was dirty, the bathroom was ancient and decrepit, with no bath plug, illegal electrics, a water heater which didn't work, no switch to turn the bath to shower, no toiletries except a small bar of soap. In the room no tea or coffee making facilities, only one chair, dirty marks on the walls, a very damp musty atmosphere in the room, damp patches on the walls, the bedside table had months worth of dust on it and to switch off the light I had to pull the plug out. No towels until we asked for them and then they had dirty marks on them. When we went up to the terrace 'restaurant' it was empty except for a member of staff who was asleep. Don't expect any help from the Manager, who sits at the front desk with his bare feet up on the desk, his attitude is nonchalant in the extreme. I asked for a better room and he just went back to sit at his desk and did nothing about it. ||At E66 / £55 a night for a double room with breakfast with no charge for the bugs in the room, this hotel is well overpriced and is to be avoided...

The only reason that I give this hotel 2 is that the sheets were clean and the shower kind of ok but far from good. Quietly set in a back street but totally disorganised. Extremely poor service, food delivered after two hours from order, breakfast staff had to be awakened in the morning.
