I made the mistake of allowing my tour operator to book two nights at Onomo Hotel in Dakar. You’ll be sorry if you stay here.|If you want a room…|-that has no tea, sugar, cup, glass, a dirty electric kettle that is black at the base and pours black specks, book your stay here.|-where you make 6 trips to the Front Desk to try to fix a broken a/c, book your stay here.|-that has a broken a/c and 6 agents tell you it’s not broken, book your stay here.||If you want to see roaches running around on the floor in the walkway, book your stay here.||If you want a hotel agent to tell you that to warm up your room, open the window—at night when it is colder outside than your room, book your stay here.||Only one of the 6 hotel agents finally explained that there are three temperature options in the room—Fan, Heat, Cold. The numbers on the thermostat are meaningless. All other 5 hotel agents fiddled with numbers on the thermostat as if it was a real thermostat. In my room, the thermostat was stuck at Cold. None of the 5 agents had any idea how to troubleshoot a broken thermostat.||I advised the front desk agent Yanique at 5.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9pm that I needed tea, sugar, a cup. He arrived at 9.53pm, woke me up to deliver them. He offered no apology. ||The hotel agent offered me a new room. After not sleeping for two nights because the room was so cold, I accepted the offer and shuddered at the thought of packing up my stuff at 4am on the second night. He checked the computer, wrote down several numbers. He then knocked on two room doors and wake up TWO guests at 4.45am! ||Stay out of here if you want a good...
Read moreI recently visited ONOMO Hotel Dakar in Senegal and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a great location, close to many restaurants and shops, and it has a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and they made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
The room I stayed in was clean and spacious, with modern decor and all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the shower was powerful, and the air conditioning worked well. I also appreciated the free Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable throughout my stay.
The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar, which served delicious food and drinks. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool and a great view of the city.
Overall, I would highly recommend ONOMO Hotel Dakar to anyone visiting Senegal. It's a great place to stay for both business and leisure travelers, and the staff are exceptional. I look forward to staying there again on...
Read moreArrived Dakar after a long flight from Lagos. Check in was fast and smooth, however the first room I was given had a damp smell and I had to change to another. The shower area is within the room, just beside the bed separated by a wall with openings. Quite a strange design as all hotel rooms I have stayed in had the toilet and shower in a separate enclosed space with a door. The toilet however was in an enclosure with a door. The sink is right inside the room.||||The room was clean, comfortable. The safe wasn't bolted to the wall making it unsafe to keep valuables in when not in the room. I requested for it to be bolted twice but nothing was done. The receptionist "Rose" was very helpful being an English speaker she made the extra effort to try and understand me and booked a good room for me on my return from Saly. ||||The free breakfast was good as well as the dinner, although they had no Senegalese meal...
