We were 4 persons travelled to Senegal for 5 weeks from 21st Sept to 26th Oct 2019. Our experience is not good as we expected, detailing as below ||Transport Pick up – When we booked rooms there was no charge for transport. And when we changed dates they charges us 100000 FC ||Hôtel VDN by GOOD RADE charging per person 25000 FC for pick up from Airport to Hotel. That is fine but when we told we are travelling together they didn’t provide any discount so we decide to book another private cab for us. And we asked for cancellation of Pick up & drop from hotel service. ||When we reached at Airport there was one guy standing in queue having our all 4 member’s names on board. We showed him invoice of 37,200 FCFA and he said that was correct invoice. So we decided to come with him. ||Also there was one more guy standing with “our company name” board and we asked first guy to check with him. This was private car guy who had word with hotel driver and he decided to move. We didn’t had single word with him about pick up. Both driver talk with each other and one driver decided to move. ||When we were doing currency exchange and sim card activation, hotel driver said he is getting late for another guest whose pick up also arranged with us. That time we realized hotel pick up was not cancelled and we have another guest with us to same hotel. Then we asked driver to make a call with hotel manager since he was not able to talk in English & we bargain for shuttle service. We bargain for shuttle at 37000 FC but when we reached at hotel they charged us 50000 FC. It was headache for us.||Also hotel driver didn’t came to the Airport Parking. He parked car around 1km away from Airport Parking to avoid parking fees. And we had to walk with two bags each to the car. ||Transport Drop - One day before leaving we asked Manager Annie to arrange car for us for 4 persons-two bags each. Since we were leaving at early morning 4 am. When we come down at reception on last day at 4 am driver said he has a small car for max 2 person he can carry. It was just ridiculous fighting in early morning with hotel service for car. Then driver repaired another car & we went, but we were just praying all the way.||Also I had asked driver to take main highway but he didn’t took, he said there is work going on highway. He was not aware I travelled on highway for entire my journey since my office was at Airport.||Laundry Service - Hôtel VDN by GOOD RADE don’t have own laundry service. They collected our clothes on Friday and return on Tuesday. ||Fine for us if they provide us service from third party. But when we checked our second instance they charged us different amount. When we asked why there is different amount has been charged they don’t had answer. They give nonsense reason like your clothes were HARD to wash. We literally fight for reasons and finally hotel manager ready to talk with laundry manger on Sunday to fix rate cards. But still they are not providing standard laundry rate cards in Rooms. We fought/discuss around 2 hrs on this topic with their local staff & manager which is not good mark. ||Air Conditions of Rooms – Most of ACs are not providing cooling what is expected in room. My two friends had to change room for AC. Manager personally visited the rooms to check AC temperature & agreed that AC’s not working. They tried 4-5 rooms still there was issue of ACs.||Exhaust Fans/ Ventilation Fan - In my room exhaust fan was working for few days. After few days it was stopped suddenly. When I asked manager to check, she said engineer is not there to repair. And it was not done till last day. ||Reception – Communication is not only hotel issue. They are not talking in English & it’s usual in Senegal, even in 5 star terroU-BI HOTEL also. So it’s hard to expect basic English from reception as well.||Breakfast – They are providing breakfast after 7 am so I am not satisfy with their breakfast. I was expecting breakfast from 6 am or 6:30 am at least. We had exception to get breakfast in early morning since our pick up was arranged at 6:30 morning by office but that was no sufficient. ||Also they have meat all the time in breakfast & they didn’t even explained or tagged it. ||Final Billing – They don’t have system to create final bill prior a day or two. Read moreCheck in was a bit problematic, didn't find my reservation although it was made via their own website but they were very friendly. In the first room they assigned me there was a major problem with the tubes (really bad smell) but they changed my room immediately for a better one that was clean and nice. Service very friendly, I received a huge bottle of water as a welcome gift. WIFI is very good. There is no hair-dryer in the room, but you get one from the reception, they bring it to your room. I asked also for a water boiler, which is also not a standard in their room and they couldn't lend me one but brought me a cup of hot water. The breakfast is ok, everything that is hot is an additional cost (2000 COXF, which is around 3,5 Euro. If you have more than 3 clothes to hang on a hanger (or you don't like those hangers that one can't remove), then you might want to bring your own hangers. There is soap, shampoo and every day fresh towels. Air condition. No mirror in the room, only in the bathroom, but in the elevator and also on the corridor. There is a TV and an (empty) refrigerator; I couldn't find out if one can order something to eat or drink for the room (no menu in the room), but they have a restaurant just at their side which is said to be good (I didn't go there).
