I started in this hotel with my son for 34 days while visiting my family in Serbia. Overall I was very happy with my stay, however there are some areas that need improvement asap.
Upon our arrival after 40 hours trip from Melbourne, Australia our room wasn’t ready. I was advised to go to the restaurant where we waited for over two hours for the room. I would think if hotel knows that they have guests coming from this far away, which they definitely knew, our room should be ready for our arrival which was well after 12.00 pm.
Considering that hotel allows smoking in the restaurant garden section this section should and must be closed and separate from the rest of the hotel. The hotel rooms are full of cigarettes smoke, especially later in the afternoon when restaurant is busier. Our entire wardrobe smells on cigarettes even upon our return to Australia. Once we opened suitcases the smell of cigarettes was very strong.
I visit my family in Serbia every year and prefer to stay in hotels, unfortunately if smoking areas are not isolated from the rest of the hotel I would have to consider staying somewhere else.
Hotel location is bit strange, tucked in between very old factories, however hotel is very nice. Exterior and interior are really nice. Hotel is very new, well maintained and very clean. Staff is also very nice, all of them, from the receptionist to the restaurant staff to the room service 10 out of 10. Food was good, not great. I suggest they can ask how would they guess prefer eggs cooked, not just overcooked and no need for arugula and balsamic glaze on everything.
I also suggest some training for the stuff on how to handle guests complaints. We had few small points to address when I actually felt bad for the staff. They simply did not know what to say, for example: guests kids were playing soccer in the hallway on our floor one night at 10pm. or cigarettes smoke in the rooms, .. staff just did not know what to say or do when I advised them.
I travel a lot all over the world with my family and for the business. This hotel has potential and is something that Kragujevac needs. There are no luxury hotels in the city, therefore my comments above are honest feedback to improve and be the perfect hotel which has potential to be.
Huge thank you to all the hotel staff, they were excellent.
