First of all the place looks as if it were built by a blind person whose brief was to design a 1980's gangster villa, but in the worst possible taste. ||||The room that we stayed in however was nice, and though some of the furnishings were of a lower quality I cannot complain about the room, or the view we had from our balcony. ||||The staff however are a mixed bag, sadly the worst offenders are the receptionists who apart from two notable exceptions are terrible and frankly rude. Waiters though and the rest of the staff were perfectly pleasant and helpful. ||||When we returned to the hotel late at night, and went for a dip in the outside pool two rather guilty teenagers slipped off (it seems the staff take liberties). What however was unforgivable was the fact that though our room had a jacuzzi it seems there is no hot water after midnight, so what seemed like a lovely idea before going to bed turned into a terrible one. Simply not acceptable for a "hotel" in this day and age, and at the relatively high price this venue charges. ||||During the day the place is usually busy, at least it was in the tail end of the high season, but hotel guests do get their choice of deck chairs (which non guests have to pay for), sadly though this means that you have to wear a tacky wrist band (at least according to the many rules and regulations that are arbitrarily enforced). ||||Also be warned the spa is not well built with wet floors a common hazard throughout the complex (be careful if you have children).||||The all important breakfast is a pretty solid offering, and to those who mind the internet WiFi signal is poor in the rooms though good in the...
Read moreThis is a great place if you come to Soko Banja for hiking.||It is more SPA with couple of rooms than a real hotel. Everything is devoted to thermal swimming pools. And people can buy daily ticket for the SPA, so it can be crowded even there is only few rooms in the hotel.||The SPA is quite nice, with 2 swimming pools indoor, and one outdoor. There is one very little pool for children, my daughter (2,5 years) loved it. Water in all the pools is over 30 degrees Celsius hot. There are jacuzzi areas in one of the indoor pools. There is steam bath, sauna, salty room, massage room... ||Downsides of the SPA: you have to go through the restaurant to go from one swimming pool to the other.||The hotel it self is fine, rooms are quite spacy, clean enough (but do not look behind the sofas and the beds), furniture is new and functional, a lot of windows and light. The food is also nice and tasty.||Downsides of the rooms: there is no bathtub in the bathroom, you take shower directly on the tiles, so the whole bathroom gets wet. The second thing is the hairdryer, it is very weak, and it turns off quite often. The third thing is that if you want to stay an hour longer in your room, you have to pay for the day stay in the Hotel, which is not fair since it really does not cost them anything they do not change the sheets or clean the room for that one hour.||The best thing about the hotel is its location. It is just a 2 minute walk from Soko Banja center. There are beautiful mountains in the surroundings, so if you like hiking this could be a great base for you, where you can relax after...
