The location is decent. The bay is nice to look at and there is a small village nearby with a few good take away restaurants and dine in restaurants. It is close to Vallee de Mai. The entire hotel is in need of renovations but the bones are there. Everything is just a little tired and needs replacing or fixing. For us the deciding factor was that it has a generous size pool and a family room for four which we didn’t find anywhere else on Praslin. So we would still recommend it if that is what you need. The breakfast gets tiring quickly if you stay more than a couple days like we did. Fruit platter, choice of eggs, white toast, one serving of jam/jelly and a daily changing serving of either pancakes, banana bread or french toast. The kids loved it, we missed variety and other breakfast options like cereal, other bread, other bread spreads. We didn’t like the curries they had for dinner and much preferred the take away restaurant with better quality and prices. The drinks menu is very limited and we would have liked to have drinks after dinner there but preferred outside restaurants. The hotel is pretty much quiet after 9pm at the latest. Service was friendly and good! The family room upstairs was nicely laid out with a king bed and two singles and a patio with great views of the sunset. The mattresses in our room were very, very worn out. We got the double mattress replaced but the next one was so hard, our legs fell asleep at night. We didn’t try to change it again. The kid’s mattress was so soft a heavier person would basically lay in the plywood underneath. So beds were uncomfortable for us. The thin bed sheets and bed cover were too light for us with the AC on and so we mostly slept with no AC. We probably could have asked for more sheets but didn’t. Bathroom was spacious and lacking a shower door. You will flood the entire bathroom when showering but what can you do. The rooms are very poorly soundproofed. Our neighbors were quiet most of the time though. And there is no outside noice really, unless your room is down by the pool where your patio will be 5 m from the pool. AC worked well. Black out shades worked ok but had still left daylight through which makes the room somewhat lit after sunrise. The shades were tired and fell of the rail on one side. Balcony furniture is a bit tired as well. The chairs in the dining room need recushioning, very worn out. Otherwise lovely view of the ocean. Jabed explained all there is to do on the island which was very helpful! Swimming pool towels are in dire need of replacement because of major stains. It just is another detail that makes the hotel feel a little neglected. The pool does need a new lining but the kids loved it anyways because of it’s size and nice surroundings of plants and the sandy area with beach loungers. Personnel is very nice and helpful. Parking is easy in front of the hotel with a night guard (it seemed like). The ocean at the hotel has a lot of rays which we found exciting but not for swimming. We ventured out every day to explore other beaches anyway so we didn’t mind. In the end we would book a self service apartment with pool closer to the north shore (Cote D‘Or or Anse Lazio for example) if we return to Praslin in the future. Due to the nice personnel we still felt comfortable at the hotel despite the state of the mentioned details and lack of food offerings and quality of dinner. If you are looking to spend your days at the hotel I would recommend staying somewhere else. If you are planning on being out and about during the day it is a good enough base to sleep and use the pool in my opinion.

We discovered the Palm Beach Hotel while looking for Sunday brunch and were blown away. Though we weren’t staying there, the staff welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to accommodate our halal and spicy food preferences. The brunch, a multi-course and filling affair was so good we came back for dinner—and again had delicious, perfectly prepared food with the most attentive and friendly service we encountered on the island. The hotel’s architecture is a highlight—an elegant blend of colonial and Creole styles, with wide verandas, high ceilings, and pastel tones reminiscent of the French Quarter in New Orleans, but uniquely Seychellois in its tropical charm. It may be a three-star hotel, but the experience we had was five-star in every way. Again, we didn’t stay overnight but we shall rectify that on our next trip to Praslin island. Highly recommended.

Small hotel with a swimming pool, restaurant, right on the beach and 10 minutes walk from restaurants and shops. ||+ Free parking for guests only.||+ Accomodation with breakfast.||+ Shared lounge and breakfast area. ||+ Nice staff in the restaurant.||+ You can pay cash or credit card.||+ Wifi is available for free in the restaurant, garden and room. ||+ The room is clean daily.||+ Room number 18 was spacious and clean with a terrace overlooking the sea. There is a TV, fan, air conditioning and a small refrigerator. The bathroom was large and clean.||+ The hotel has a nice and clean swimming pool.||+ Free beach towel at the reception. ||||-The beach in front of the hotel is not good and you can't swim there because of the seaweed. It’s the problem of a whole southwest coast and the hotel is not to blame.||-The worst part of this hotel was the restaurant Kato Noir. Nice and clean place, very nice staff, but the food was the worst we ate in Seychelles.||-"Vegetable fried rice" on the menu was boiled rice with a frozen vegetable and raw carrots. Price 210 SCR (14 Eur).||-"Chicken and chips" on the menu was fried and burnt two pieces of meat with oily fries. Price 250 SCR (17 Eur).||- Breakfast is simple and the same every day – a fruit plate, juice, toast, butter, tea or coffee (probably instant coffee or American coffee), a choice of scrambled eggs, fried eggs or an omelette. Pancakes with a jam are a bonus compared to other hotels in the Seychelles. Scrambled eggs were a really bad and tasted like it was not even made from eggs, or it was a semi-finished product.||- No drinking water (in a bottle) in the room. You have to buy water in the restaurant or in the supermarket.||- No shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom.||||Review: Small beachfront hotel in a tropical garden near restaurants and shops. Nice colonial style, spacious and clean room and bathroom. It ‘s a pity, that the price does not include drinking water, shampoo and shower gel, which are also standard in apartment or villas (also in Seychelles). We visited the hotel before Christmas, but there was no Christmas decoration (except of two outdated Christmas trees) to create a pleasant atmosphere. The absolute worst was, unfortunately, the food in the restaurant, which spoiled the overall impression of the hotel. We compared the same food (chicken and chips) in the hotel and in the Breeze Garden restaurant, which is a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The price, quality of food and taste were incomparable (see our review of Breeze Garden...

The Palm Beach Hotel is neither good nor bad, i.e. it is average. The hotel itself which has a nice colonial style, is somewhat outdated and due for renovation (which also the owners stated). However, everything functioned to our satisfaction (like aircondition, safe, cold/hot water, shower, toilet, etc). Location of the hotel at Grand Anse is nice and quiet. The beaches close to the hotel are nice, but not tempting to use due to large number of stingrays. It was nice to relax in the hotel garden and pool, but this area could have been better kept and cleaned. The breakfast included with the room was simple, but ok with fruit, toast and eggs at your choice. The restaurant and the solution with fixed dinner menu was expensive, not so tempting and tested only once, however the food served was good. Since we stayed 9 days at the hotel, we ended up with a rental car in 6 of these days and had almost all meals at other different locations on the island. The hotel staff were friendly and especially Natasha was helpful and arranged what we wanted. If you dont require too much, we will recommend this hotel which is fairly priced in The Seychelles. Are you staying more than 2-3 days in Praslin, we strongly recommend a rental car and drive to various areas of the island like Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, two of the nicest beaches in the world. PS! Palm Beach Hotel has its own fleet of (fairly priced)...
