Good stay at Futura! Got in pretty late, but used their automatic check in system. Was nervous that it wouldn’t work, but everything was fine, just make sure to read the signs they have about what information to enter. It also said something about a deposit but never actually made me give one which I was grateful for as I did not have cash on me. Easy enough to find my room/bed. Bed was comfy and spacious. Nice little ledge to set things and a box inside the bunk area to store stuff. Then there’s shelves in the room for big bags as well. Had a room with en-suite. Liked that toilet, shower, sink were separate from each other. If bathroom was occupied there were shared bathrooms on the floor as well. Spaces felt clean everywhere. I think my only issue was with the bathroom a couple of times where there was either no bin or a full one. Nice little outdoor common space. I spent a lot of time chilling out there. Was able to do some laundry while there as well. Breakfast was limited but good. Bread with spreads both days I was there plus oatmeal one day and cereal the next. I did extend my stay which was really easy. I just messaged the whatsapp number and they gave me the info I needed. Not that social, but I wasn't looking for that so it didn't bother me. Some bus stops right across the street and 2 nearby MRT stations- no more than...
Read moreI’ll list the cons to start off : this is by far the least social hostel I’ve ever stayed in in my years of traveling. There isn’t a good communal area / social space to hang out aside from the small kitchen/ laundry deck no hot water when I took a shower at 8am (before anyone else used the shower) -“Breakfast” was enriched white bread with cheap sugary “jam , peanut butter” 🤮 the light in the dorm room stays on 24/7. also there are no windows / very little space in the dorm room aside from a small cubby and your sleeping space (would not recommend if you’re over 6ft tall) machine check in which was ok for me but if there are any issues it would be disastrous as I didn’t notice staff or a reception area (and if you don’t have a sim card / haven’t connected to the Wi-Fi it’d be hard to contact someone) got a few new bug bites after one night of sleep
Pros: cold ac / good location near the metro/ clean...
Read moreFirst night in Singapore, hated it, even thought of flying directly the next day to Malaysia rather than staying in a country where accommodation are that expensive and bad at low prices. Checkin is pretty fast using the automatic machine that delivers the badge to enter the building, no deposit if booked on Agoda directly which is nice, cash deposit is requested in other cases. Interior is kinda modern but amenities are not convienent at all. Rooms are really small, there's no place to even open a suitcase. AC is turned all the time and is really noisy. No intimacy and worse of all is the absence of windows in the room I stayed in. Seems more like a rat cage rather than a guest house. Price was good the night I booked it so it's a plus, wouldn't stay there more than a night if no better option. Stayed at KINN following night and ngl it was wonderful... So good dormitories exist in Singapore for a...
