We have stayed in 7th floor room no 74 and 76 for 4 nights on mid may 2025. Booking: Done by our travel agency based on our need. Two Superior double room city view booked. Considering the room size and the need of 2 bathrooms for relaxed morning wake-ups, we have booked 2 rooms for 4 members. Never book single room for family. If 3 members means, take family room. Seen several comments about room size. Usually island like Singapore, Japan etc we will end up with smart compact room as baseline. If we need spacious, then we must go for premier, deluxe rooms. So, decide before booking itself.
Location: Exactly bang on corner roads, walkable distance to Little India for Indian/Chinese restaurants (not for elders ofcourse). Boss having convenient car/van/bus pickup drop facility in the entrance. They have bus stop infront of hotel as well.
Checkin: Very smooth & faster. Many desks available. When showing passports, immediately they handover the key and explained vital details. No security deposit collected. They will give option for breakfast. Salt & pepper restaurant ground floor or 4th floor Jubulious restaurant. Keep this key as handy for lift usage to all access inside hotel.
Room: Very compact for 2 persons only. We don't have more space for moving around. But all necessary things are available. TV/AC/Phone working fine. Bed is clean. Though bathroom is compact, cleaning is perfect. Towels, dental kit, soap shampoo liquid available. Daily house keeping happened. Water purifier available. we need to fill water from bathroom washbasin pipe and get hot or cold water. it was working fine. Apart from this, if we have water bottles, then walk to 4th floor , water dispenser available behind Gym. In addition, ground floor entrance ,there is a water dispenser available nearby luggage bag counter.
Wifi: Hotel BOSS wifi is good. Room-wise separate WiFi available. When you switch on TV, it shows WiFi room number and password. Very good & fast WiFi.
Restaurant: Level 1 (in India, it is Ground floor) Salt & pepper always crowd in the morning hours and less spacious. Level 4 restaurant is good with more space and service also good with varieties. Lunch & dinner, we used to take in little India (Murugan Idly, Venu dindugal biriyani, Nivis curry, Nandhana are tasted & recommended) or visiting tourist places. One more option is , within Hotel BOSS complex, (exit opposite to entrance gate) several restaurant Chinese , japan, Indian available. Indian restaurant (AL AJWA) is good, price is very reasonable on all varieties including dosa, roti, naan, rice, biriyani etc. Don't forget tasting their chai. if you need, bottle water, snacks several tiny restaurant and store CHERRY available within Hotel BOSS complex.
Swimming pool: Just 1.2m uniform depth of clean swimming pool located in 4th floor. We enjoyed. Safety turb, adequate towels, shower , chair available. Other corner, smoking place located in 4th floor. Don,t smoke inside room and other places.
Staffs & Service: Staffs are excellent and very cooperative. When i need additional towels, shaving kit, immediately they delivered to room. SImilarly, when we requested for change of breakfast restaurant, Ms Sofia immediately helped to give pass for floor 4 Jubilation.
Suggestion to Indian Tourists: Please ensure your availability at least 5min before scheduled coach arrival or pickup. For this, we need to complete breakfast much earlier & faster. Always, I found coach is waiting for someone. It delays all. Second, buy Singapore SIM card (we ordered online Pelago portal for SINGTEL with 1+1 offer 12S$ with 100GB data + local calls limits & collected in Changi airport after immigration). This is must because all our tour programmes pickup drop attraction tickets all are sent thro whats-app only everyday. Third, don't rush for sight seeing. Give enough rest in-between each attraction. Travel agency push us to explore more places. But we need to limit based on our body condition, rest. So that , we can spend good time in hotel amenities and explore Singapore culture...
Read moreIn summary if you don’t want to read the whole review: Had to change the rooms 3 times, very bad room conditions, cleaning is really bad, the only plus is good location, other than that its not worth it.
Full review: Very disappointed. I have booked the hotel for 7 days and if i knew the condition will be this way i would’ve changed the hotel without any regrets but it was fully paid in advance.
When i booked the rooms from booking.com i have specified that we are a family with 5 kids and we must be all in the same floor with close rooms or connected room. But due to the room options there was only twin and triple rooms so i had to take 3 rooms in total 2 twin beds and 1 triple room.
Once we arrived to check in first thing i said is we need to be all in the same level and they kept saying there is no chance they can only keep 2 twin beds in one level and the triple room in another level which was impossible with 13-10-9-7-5 years old kids and wanted to be close to each other. But after many discussions with back and forth and coming tired from the airport after 7 hrs of trip i had to approve and move on to the rooms. Once we checked in i have discovered that the toilet water hose is broken and not fixed, to discover afterwards that my 5 years old son is lost in the hotel while trying to go to his siblings in another floor which he couldn’t due to the lift limited accessibility to the floors without room cards which led him to be stuck in the elevator and then taking him to the roof top floors!!! It was a terrible experience. The good thing that the staff were good in handling the lost kids situation and found him stuck in the cctv’s which led me to insist on having all rooms in the same floor to avoid similar situation in the future. After 30min of debate they found me all rooms in the same floor and had to repack the kids stuff from the 2 rooms to shift them to the triple room floor.
When i just thought that issues had ended to discover second night that one of the kids rooms AC was not working and they slept the night before without AC. So i spoke to the hotel staff at 1AM informing them with the issue to send a technician. Technician came and said yes the AC is not working and we need to change rooms AGAIN! so the reception told me we can’t fix the issue now we have to change the room to another level which i refused and insisted on having a different room in the same level and staff keeps saying we don’t have we don’t have, i just simply said “ then its either u find me a technician now, or find me a room same level, no other options i can accept” after 30 min a room was secured in the same level !!!
It was just tiring to go back and forth with them,, the staff yes were ok in handling things but always after long debates which it shouldn’t happen.
The rooms are really small and dated and their condition is not that ok.
Cleaning is not ok it should be better than this.. basically they just tide the bed and change towels.
Location is ok right next to all stations and walking distance to needed amenities.
No water in the room, basically they tell you use tap water.
No iron in the room, u need to go to their laundry facility in the 4th floor.
Overall experience, very disappointed, i wish we booked another hotel while our visit. ———- I have updated the review with the hotel staff reactions to my complains: I would really give a big thank you to Hidaya, she was amazing in addressing all our concerns and issues, she really was on top of it and made the reat of the stay spotless, i won’t really blame the staff if the hotel was old and needed maintenance and customer service at this hotel i would say is good because of Ms. Hidaya ,, thank you for treating our matter seriously and trying to work...
Read morePros:- The hotel is strategically located, just a 10-minute walk to Beach Road and Jalan Besar, both of which are bustling with local eateries and coffee shops. There are plenty of food options nearby, ensuring you won’t go hungry even late at night. Additionally, Lavender Station is only a 5-minute walk away, providing easy access to transportation across Singapore.Cons:1. The majority of hotel guests are Indians and Southeast Asians, comprising roughly 80% of the clientele. Most of the front desk staff are of Indian origin as well, with limited appearances of Western or other Asian faces. There is a particular scent prevalent in the hotel that might be noticeable.2. The hotel does not provide bottled water and lacks a kettle. Instead, you can get water from the ground floor (which I haven't tried) or use the “water purifier” in the room. However, upon check-in, I found the water purifier still filled with water, which was unappealing. Honestly, you wouldn’t expect the kettle to be wet from the previous guest—or should I say, still damp.3. Amenities are limited; it’s advisable to bring your own shampoo and body wash if needed. The provided handwash, body wash, and shampoo are identical. As someone with fine, fragile hair, I experienced significant hair loss after using their “shampoo,” which is actually body wash.4. While toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary bag, and shower cap are provided, other basic amenities like cotton buds, cotton pads, or a comb are absent. Given the hotel claims to be a 4-star property, these should be included.5. The room is extremely small—so much so that my cabin-sized luggage was the only thing it could accommodate, despite having a double bed that fits two people.6. The room lacks soundproofing. Early in the morning, I could hear janitors starting their cleaning as early as 7 a.m., which would disturb many guests who might still be sleeping. Additionally, sounds of water running from neighboring rooms could be heard easily.7. The room does not have a “Do Not Disturb” sign, so your sleep can be continuously interrupted—particularly by housekeeping. The only option is to insert your room key into a dock to keep electricity on. I experienced this firsthand when a young male housekeeper repeatedly knocked on my door at 1 p.m., despite my informing him in English that housekeeping was not required that day. I had to use Google Translate to communicate that he should return the next morning. Nonetheless, he persisted, knocking multiple times between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A hotel of this quality should definitely provide a “DND” sign, either digital or in paper form.8. The room is fitted with a blind instead of proper curtains or drapes. Typically, hotels have a combination of sheer curtains and blackout curtains to allow sunlight during the day while maintaining darkness at night. In this case, the blind completely blocks out all light, making it inconvenient for sleepers like me who prefer darkness at night and natural light in the morning.9. Most importantly, I discovered numerous ants and bugs crawling on the desk where the water purifier was placed. During my five-night stay, I killed at least ten insects. I even recorded a video showing an ant running swiftly on the desk.Summary:Overall, this has been the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Singapore. Having visited Singapore over 20 times for leisure and business, I can confidently say this stay was disappointing. I booked last-minute and would NEVER return to this hotel. In fact, a nearby hostel would probably rate higher than Hotel Boss. I genuinely don’t understand how it earned a 4-star rating.I am sharing this review to warn future guests—good luck if you choose...
