Booked a premier suite with outdoor jacuzzi ($300+) for my birthday celebration. Room is smaller than expected, not sound proof, and dirty. Only knew about its terms and condition of not allowing visitors to stay after 10pm so yes although it is my wrong that they stayed after 10pm, i felt that the hotel staffs’s way of handling it is too unprofessional. He lacked basic empathy and customer service. Also, if i’d knew about the T&S earlier, i wouldn't have book this hotel because none of this ever happened to me or my friends at bigger hotels. (I was only notified about this T&S on the day itself) so maybe i suggest putting your T&S on your website and confirmation letter.
It’s just a simple humble gathering that we finally meet and cut cake for my birthday, had a little bit of good catching up despite life; we were just quietly doing our own things.
Backstory is that they only can come after work and all, & sadly, i just broke up, my friends came to comfort me on my birthday itself after work. To be honest, that male hotel staff was stalking everyone so much via cctv, he should know that i was alone in the hotel most of the time till night time when my friends can finally come and at least hold a short celebration for me.
The way he is stalking and terrorising us via the cctv camera has already crossed our privacy boundaries.
The first time he called, he said like “Hello, you have 3 visitors in your room right? it’s already pass 10pm, they’re considered trans-passing our property now, you have to ask them to come out” I told him that is my birthday, and they just came, they will leave after i cut my cake and all.
Then things start to get worst. He kept on spam calling us, till even at wee hours at 2.30am in the morning. He called multiple times, each lasted till the phone call dies out on its own. His attitude was bad too, when i answer the phone call he started saying stuffs starting his sentences with “I told you to…right? ”, “did you JUST allow..??” Felt more like secondary school kids having detention class/camp being watched and controlled and disciplined instead? He got the capability to be so much of a psychopath to its valued customers but cannot even put an effort to take note that is my birthday and take note that i had been alone most of the time in the hotel room? Not that i mind because its my own business, but is exactly why! It’s passed the boundaries. The way he stalked us, he knew exactly who came in and out of my room, (and is not like we are trouble makers? We’re his customers!)
Also, even after my friends left, he continued to spam call, ASSUMING that i have more people in my room, which got me very furious and i scolded him in the phone call.
I apologise to loss my anger but the fact that he was spamming calls at wee hours really gives me a-lot of anxiety as well as the choice of words he uses to communicate in the phone call?
Like i said, it felt more like i’m in a detention room and this disciplinary figure is interrogating me, controlling and watching my every behaviour, He really crossed his boundaries.
Really disappointing that i booked this room for almost $300 to relax but instead i ended up with so much anxiety from him.
Yes. Following the rules is correct, but when people have zero empathy and is stalking/controlling customers as if we are prisoners? Woah. I didnt pay $300 to be treated like prisoners. My friends certainly do not deserve to be treated like that too. Totally ruin my short getaway birthday staycation.
I’ll never ever come back again. Worst hotel...
Read moreFront staff chinese lady claiming to be the manager, was very rude throughout my stay. We requested for early check in as my partner just got into an accident and she was badly limping. But this lady was very rude about it and almost, i would say, childish? In the way she responds. People who have encountered this ET would understand. Fast forward almost 2hrs later, we checked in. Room was okok nothing much to rave about tbh. We got the room with the outdoor bathtub. Location was good! In the middle of good food and amenities.
Fast forward to check out day, my partner was out and i overslept for checkout. So my partner called front desk asking for late checkout, explaining the circumstances to her, but ET only gave 30 mins extension. Thank god i finally woke up and i tried calling front desk to explain that i overslept and im so sorry and pls give me some time to shower etc. (FYI this was only 12++ noon) ET firmly told me NO and she seemed to be very upset and almost too emotional/sensitive, definitely not professional.
ET told me if i didnt leave by 1pm she was gonna call the police? Oh no.... the police... im gonna shit my pants so bad..... I told her okay, packed my bags up chuck chuck chuck everything into my bag, brushed my teeth, washed my face. Made sure i looked good in the mirror. Some lipbalm. I had a yummy protein drink in the fridge so brought that out. Time from my phone call to me out of the door took only 10 mins. ET said be out by 1pm and at 12.50pm i was out the door.
I left my keycard at the counter and there she was, ET. Didnt say a word to me. So i said checkout pls. She acknowledged. Hmmm staying silent after threatening to call the police cuz a guest overslept? Doesnt sit right with me. So i asked her for her name, she told me her name. Then i asked "dont they send you to courses or any training before starting work here?" She quickly replied with a smirk, " im the manager here and im also very highly educated". To me, i won because she proved my point that shes definitely a no manners alien with that. I smiled and said " oh youre the manager? Thats worst then. Have a good day". Walked out enjoyed a cigarette and my protein drink.
Do not come here if youre expecting 5 star service. Her attitude definitely has gotten alot of complaints in the past. Ive been to alot of hotels ranging from 1stars-5stars and i can definitely tell you that ive gotten the WORST customer service experience at this hotel. Specifically by Ms/Mrs Highly Educated. Your title means nothing on the streets girlll fix that nasty...
Read moreBitter honeymoon, broken jacuzzi and noisy neighbors — won’t be returning.
My husband and I chose this hotel for a small honeymoon, recalling the fond memories of our past visits here before we got married. Unfortunately, our recent stay was far from the romantic experience we expected:
Outdoor jacuzzi was broken
We booked a room specifically because of the outdoor jacuzzi. The jets didn’t work at all. We called the front desk immediately, tried the suggested fixes, but nothing helped. For what we paid, we feel a bit cheated. They really need regular inspections so future guests can actually enjoy what’s advertised.
Unacceptable noise and intrusion late at night
What really ruined our stay was the excessive noise and lack of privacy.
At around 10 am, we were abruptly woken by loud knocking and someone shouting “Housekeeping!” — even though our “Do Not Disturb/Privacy” sign was clearly displayed. We thought it was a worker at our door, but when my husband looked through the peephole, he saw a friend of another guest lingering outside.
This made us feel uneasy and led us to suspect undisclosed extra guests in neighboring rooms which was something we don’t recall being permitted as per the Hotel Registration Form upon check-in. It baffled us that the front desk never checked or enforced room occupancy rules, nor reminded guests of quiet hours per the check-in agreement.
Aside from this alarming incident, the noise never stopped: neighbors shouting/talking super loudly, KIDS running in the hallways well past 11 pm (even bumping into our door at one point), and cigarette smoke drifting into our room and corridor — even though it’s a non-smoking establishment. We didn’t get a good night’s sleep due to the incessant disturbance. We were left restless, annoyed, and just anticipating our check-out. The noise continued well into the early morning hours, between 4 and 6 am.
We did enjoy some quiet moments together, but overall, it was a bittersweet experience. Between the broken amenities and lack of peace, we left feeling disappointed.
Hotel Clover 769 has changed a lot since my first stay here. I never had a bad experience before, but unfortunately, our recent visit was disappointing. It really feels like the management has become more lax, and the overall vibe just isn’t the same as it was 5–6 years ago. It used to feel well-run and welcoming — now it seems to be missing that touch.
Suffice it to say, this is our last stay here and we will...
