This property is totally not recommended. Not sure about all the positive reviews, but our experience was a huge turn down for our trip to Singapore. Here’s what happened :
We came across this property via Agoda app. We saw there’s a Triple room option with two room types (1 bunk bed and 1 queen bed OR 1 bunk bed and 2 single beds). As far as our Mathematics knowledge told us that these two room types can actually occupy four guests, despite the name “Triple Room”. So, we decided to contact the hotel BEFORE proceeding our booking. We asked if its ok if we book this room because have 4 guests. The hotel’s reply has no problem at all. We then proceeded the booking and payment. Once again, we DOUBLE CONFIRMED the hotel with the number of pax which is four of us, and also we requested for the 2 single beds room type, but we understand that having this room type is subjected to availability. The hotel, again, replied they acknowledged our requests, but NEVER MENTION about any extra charges. We assumed that we were good to go.
Here comes the check in day. We handed over four passports to the receptionist named “Chaman”. She was clueless at first, and after she checked the booking system, she told us to pay for the fourth person, because we booked “Triple Room” for four person (54 SGD PER NIGHT). We argued about this and showed her all the proofs and chat records, she still have no sign of helping.
Frustratingly, we contacted Agoda about this issue. Agoda contacted them on behalf of us, and tried to have them (or in other words, HER) ammend our bookings or just refund to us. This rude lady DOESNT WANT TO HELP AT ALL! And coincidentally, we found out that she WAS THE ONE replying us through the app all the while!
In the end, AGODA agreed to pay on behalf of us. But I don’t think this is appropriate because both, Agoda and us were not at fault, while the guilty one paid nothing for her own mistakes! We also told her that if this issue isn’t settled, we will file a report to the police and also to the High Commission of Malaysia. Her face told us that this issue isn’t happening for the first time.
Although our problem has been settled by the end of the day, but we were forced to gave up on at least three itineraries because the whole process took us OVER THREE HOURS! So everyone please THINK THRICE before making any bookings on this property. You MIGHT or MIGHT NOT face the same issue like us. Our first day to Singapore was wasted just like that. Room Conditions: The room I was assigned was distressingly substandard. It lacked cleanliness and comfort, diverging significantly from the advertised depictions. The disregard for basic upkeep made it difficult to find any sense of relaxation or rest.
Customer Service: The level of service was profoundly lacking. Encountering a disinterested staff who seemed unresponsive to basic requests and concerns was disheartening. This indifference created an unwelcoming environment, making me feel disregarded as a guest.
Facilities: Where amenities might usually salvage an otherwise lackluster experience, here they too were found wanting. Critical features were out of order or entirely missing, detracting greatly from the guesthouse's overall appeal.
Locale: I had hoped the location might offer some redeeming qualities, yet it too fell short of expectations. The guesthouse's position was either inconvenient or failed to live up to its promised allure and ease of access.
Overall Impression: Reflecting on my time at K2 Guesthouse, the experience was marred by a series of letdowns. The poor room standards, inadequate service, lacking amenities, and less-than-ideal location collectively made my stay a series of compromises. Read moreHello, guest from room 407 checked out on 26th Jan 2025. So i’ve stayed here for 2 weeks for work and id easily rate it a 5star overall. Just location wise to central is quite a distance because you’d have to talk 5-7min to Haw Par Villa MRT to get to central. Bus is also another option but prolly had to walk 3-5mins. Room service is great, staff are really attentive and friendly. Room wise, i got a single room which is very small, and wouldn’t recommend if u were to stay for more than 3 days. But i was on a budget and the services and utilities compensate for most of it and made it felt more comfortable.
There’s also a cheap Chinese restaurant right in front where u can get lunch and dinner and the food is delicious! Besides, there’s like a cheap convenience store right beside the restaurant where u can find almost everything u need from groceries to amenities.
Last but not least, the environment is neat breezy, and relaxing. They have good hygiene which i hope they keep it up. Lobby is well decorated and u can just make urself comfortable. Theres also smoking section available. You can trust my review, i stayed there for 2 weeks. For the price, everything is convenient and more than enough unless ur just a self entitled Karen, then u might need somewhere else.
