We were surprised - in positive sense - by this place and its environment! As it is a pension, and not a 4* hotel, we did not expect much, but it looks very lovely from outside, has nice garden on the river-side, fire and grill place, everywhere are plenty of flowers and decoration which fit perfectly the idea of a romantic, wild and nature place. Parking is free and directly in front of the house, there is a restaurant in the house, so if you feel tired after a long drive / day, you can stay at "home" and are not forced to go outside and search for a restaurant. The rooms are nice, newly furnished and absolutely clean, fully equipped, we had even a frigo, I am not sure that this is a standard in a 2* pension. The staff is friendly and helpful, speaks foreign languages. The food was very tasty and not expensive. ||There is a lot to undertake in the surroundings, unfortunately we only did the river rafting which was a lot of fun, because the guide was constantly telling us lots of stories. We rent bikes before the raft, they were brought by car to the place we finished our raft and came back on ourselves. The rental time is unlimited, so you can take all your time you need to appreciate the nature, visit Poland and do some shopping, and have a snack or so on your way back to the pension. People also visit monastery and its little market, which looks very interesting from outside. The prize for the bike rental is only 4 euro, incl. helmet, which is obviously affordable. But you can also walk back or take a bus or a taxi, whatever you prefer. ||Anyway, it is a very charming place and I would fully recommend it to all: groups of young people, families - even with toddlers, couples of all ages, everybody...
Read moreWe stayed in Penzion Pltnik for 3 nights in a double room on a half board basis. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinners were good. Even though on half-board, one could choose also a la carte dish for dinner and pay the difference. We always took the dinner on the outside terrace, next to the Dunajec river, it was really enjoyable.||||There is free WiFi and free parking. Staff is very helpful and can explain the options for trips and hike in the area.||||We also booked a massage, it was very good and very affordable.||||As all other reviews said, the rafting on Dunajec starts just next to the pension which is very handy.||||Even though the pension is located at the end of the village, it is just a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village, 15 minute walk to the monastery and a 5 minute walk to the bus stop.||||For the hikes in Pieniny, Cerveny Klastor is a good starting point. ||||To explore the area, it is handy...
Read moreVery friendly pension with maybe 25 rooms. Rooms are very simple, basically sleep only, with a surprising combination of shower and bathroom in one cubicle, but that should not be a surprise. A pretty nice restaurant on the premises that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and in good quality and attractive prices. The famous rafts going down the river between Poland and Slovakia start right next to the hotel, so very convenient. Takes about 1.5 hrs from start to end. Bike rental on the premises and the good thing is that you can arrange (for little money) to have a bike waiting for you at the end of the raft trip, so you can bicycle back on a bike path along the river - all very pleasant. There is also a camping right next door for those that...
