Pension Victoria — Hotel in Ždiar

We travel to Europe about once a year and have visited the Alps in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Dolomites in Italy. Since we love mountains and were taking a trip touring Central Europe we decided to visit Zdiar in the Bela Tatras, and it was a wonderful experience. It was also amazingly cheaper than any of the other mountain locations we visited in Europe. My husband got reservations at Penzion Viktoria in Zdiar, a family owned bed and breakfast, where we had a amazingly beautiful room with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the mountains. The breakfasts were included, with a diverse selection of good food that was replenished as needed. Dinner in the restaurant is also available there and though the menu is limited, it is extremely good food and reasonably priced. The décor is beautiful including bas relief carvings on the walls and different ones on all of the chairs. In good weather there is a door from the restaurant that goes out to the patio where there are tables and a children's play area. This place was so beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful. This place is terrific. The decor is very traditional and the carvings alone are worth going to see. Everywhere you look in their dining hall , you see hand carved details. Each chair in the dining room has a unique, one of a kind, carving.They serve wonderful meals, which are Slovak Specialties. We stayed in the Chata Adamcova across the street. We had full use of the kitchen and family area as well as a nice room, all for 38 Euros a night! We ate breakfast in their dining hall. The breakfast buffet was spectacular and even included crepes! The hardworking couple and their staff have gone far beyond what is expected of a Pension. Everything here is quality. When we were there in Aug, 2012, they were in the process of adding a beautiful outdoor area and hidden parking lot. I know it will be tasteful and will only add to an already beautiful place. i was travelling with my family (8 adults, 3 kids) and had a reservation to "penzion viktoria" in zdiar, slovakia. when we arrived we found out that we were actually located on a different plce across the street, i don't know why, but afret waiting for the nice resort we saw at the internet we were quit disappointed... we were surprised and very happy to find out that the place across the street was a great place, and even much more suitable for us as a family. it was a big beautiful new wooden hose, well equipped warm and inviting. marcella the manager was so nice and affable. the whole stuff at the resort was pleasent.||the resort is located in a gorgeous village, sorrounded with a breathtaking view. there are many travelling options at the close area.||trully, a great graet...
