Our stay at Penzion Soña during our ski trip was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality that it immediately felt like home. The hosts were exceptional—kind, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. Their genuine friendliness and helpfulness made our experience even more enjoyable.
The property itself was a dream. Everything was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and designed with great attention to detail. The views from the villa were breathtaking, offering stunning panoramas of the surrounding mountains that made every moment feel magical.
And the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every meal was a culinary delight, showcasing fresh ingredients and rich flavors that left us eagerly anticipating the next dish. It’s rare to find a place where both comfort and cuisine exceed expectations, but Penzion Soña managed to do just that.
We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Whether you’re here for skiing, relaxation, or simply to enjoy the beauty of nature, this property will surpass your expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Read moreWe loved the few days we spent at Penzion Sona. We were greeted warmly by the host mother and her son who was the English translator. Between them they showed around their lovely house from our room, to the guest kitchen, and downstairs to the guest bar, lounge and garden. Our room was great, it had everything we needed: double bed, couch, ensuite, good storage, fridge, sky tv, and a balcony with amazing views of the Tatra mountains. ||The Penzion is really close to a little shop to buy groceries, all the bars and restaurants in Zdiar, the souvenier shop and the museum. Some awesome walks start within 5 minutes of the front door, and the trails are really well marked with maps at various locations which show you all the walks...

Sonia gave us a larger room than we had booked (immaculately clean), and we also enjoyed the delicious, varied, moderately-priced breakfast. Dinner is available, but we ate at some of the pleasant near-by restaurants. Can imagine the view is spectacular on a clear day, but still beautiful for us with intermittent rain and occasional lifting of the clouds. Took a great 5 mile (8 km) walk in the foothils on a well-marked path starting 5 minutes from the inn. We came and departed by bus, but many folks had cars. Zdiar is a gem - quiet, charming, scenic, and friendly -an excellent stop in the Tatras. Thank you Sonia...
