Villa Necas — Hotel in Žilina

Buses 24,26 and 31 from the bus station, right next door to the train station, take fifteen minutes if that to drop you outside Villa Necas and it costs 1 euro! (also very frequent...) It was nice to be a bit out of town and walk around the reservoir and along the river which lies at the back of the hotel. The hotel is a lovely place set rather incongruously next to a car showroom in an industrial area! It has an amazing cellar and nice big dining room. Contrary to Que C's experience in July (whose remarks helped entice us here as we too hate ambient muzak) there was loud noise playing in the hotel foyer when we arrived, and during breakfast (which was excellent) too - totally unnecessary and not in context with the style and ambience of the hotel itself. Our room was stunning and had a bath next to a log fire, which would be great to use when it is winter! The shower and loo were separate and to a very high standard. Massive telly on the wall. Villa Necas is a terrific find. The rooms are quiet, nicely equipped with heating and AC, and feature large windows that can be opened. Water pressure and temperature in the shower are excellent (although the shower is about the size of a standard phone booth). Internet is slow but reliable. The front desk and restaurant staff that I dealt with were all conversational in English, which is good, as I speak no Slovak. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from a Tesco and perhaps a 15-minute walk from several restaurants. The hotel's restaurant is superb; rabbit, duck, beef, and chicken were all on the menu at various times. Breakfast is buffet-style and not bad, but since it's included in the room rate I'll give it a pass. Parking is adequate. Bonus: the hotel is near the Zilina dam, where there are running and cycling trails along the the Vah river and the dam reservoir. Overall this hotel was an excellent value for my business trip and I'd absolutely stay...

Dobrý deň. S manželkou sme navštívili vo večerných hodinách 25.10.2025 wellness, ktorý sme dostali ako darček. Boli sme vo Ville Nečas prvýkrát. Prebiehala tam v reštaurácii práve nejaká oslava. Slečna, ktorá mala na starosti wellness a bola slušná a príjemná, nám poukazovala sauny. Zobral som si plachtu, z ktorej trčali nitky, takže už čosi pamätala. Keď som zamykal maličkú skrinku na veci, nedala sa uzamknúť. Po poriadnom pritisnutí dvierok som to nakoniec na viacero pokusov zvládol, ale zámok sa pretáčal. Slečna sa vyjadrila, že už o tom hovorila niekomu, ale nikto to neopravil. Išli sme do parnej sauny, kde bola totálna tma a teplota taká brutálna, že sme museli zo sauny doslova ujsť, lebo sa tam nedalo ani dýchať. Tak sme išli do fínskej, ktorá bola v pohode. Oddychová zóna spočíva zo stoličiek a hrá tam dookola tá istá relaxačná hudba... Bazén je v pohode. Išiel som zavolať tú slečnu, aby znížila teplotu v saune, ale nový pán na recepcii nám povedal, že už išla domov. Takže klienti vo Wellness a ona si odíde domov. Pán nám povedal, že sauna je nastavená na 52 stupňov a nevie to znížiť. Povedal, aby sme si otvorili dvere, lenže vtedy začala horúca para brutálne chŕliť, tak sme to s parnou saunou vzdali. Nie som odborník, ale údajne má byť parná sauna nastavená na 45 až 50 stupňov. Boli sme už vo veľa týchto sáun a vždy to bol úžasný zážitok. Nikto za dobu, keď sme boli vo Wellness, v nej nebol, okrem jednej pani, ktorá nám potvrdila, že v saune bolo až prehnane horúco. Na podlahe bolo veľa vody, lebo ju nemal kto zotrieť. Keď prišla manželka ako prvá ku skrinke s vecami, keď sme skončili, omylom odomkla svojim kľúčom moju skrinku. Ako sa toto môže stať? Recepčný sa na mňa, keď som to povedal, iba díval, bez nejakej rozumnej argumentácie, čo s tým mienia urobiť. Keď som sa obúval, tak lavička vŕzgala teda poriadne. Celkový rozpačitý dojem z Wellness "zabil" recepčný, ktorý keď sme mu povedali, že si ideme dať čaj do miestnosti vedľa recepcie, kde nikto nesedel, povedal, že čašník musel ísť do Tesca a že nám pošle niekoho z tej oslavy. Dievčina nám doniesla mätový čaj po dosť dlhej dobe s dvomi cukrami, žiadny med, ani citrón. Čašník, keď sa vrátil z nákupov, tak sa ospravedlnil a bol veľmi slušný a príjemný. Ja fakt neviem, či to bola náhoda, ale sme zvyknutí na oveľa vyšší štandard služieb. Nepíšem často recenzie, ale v tomto prípade bolo tých negatív až príliš veľa. Takže do Wellness v tomto podniku...
